Niagara Falls was lit up in the colours of the Israeli flag last week in what has become an annual celebration for the end of Sukkot.

The lighting of the falls is a time when Christians and Jews come together to pray for Israel and the Jewish people. Niagara Falls is situated on the border between the USA and Canada and this ceremony takes place on the Canadian side.

Israel’s Embassy in Toronto said:

“Every year, members of the Ontario Christian community gather in Niagara to celebrate and pray for Israel. Though this year’s edition of ‘Niagara to Israel With Love’ will be largely virtual, organizers Jaroslav & Tanya Hajek were present last night to witness Niagara Falls illuminated with the blue and white of the Israeli flag! Thank you to the Hajek family for organizing this touching tribute. We look forward to celebrating in person next year!”
