God declared this amazing prophecy to Israel that He alone would one day gather the Jewish people out of the nations and return them to their land.
“‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. (Ezekiel 36:24)
The world witnessed this miracle take place in 1948, and it continues to be fulfilled before our eyes as the Jewish people return to the land God gave them.
Why did God do this? It wasn’t because of Israel’s actions, or because of Israel’s obedience, or because of the actions of any other individual.
Here’s why:
“Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.” (Ezekiel 36:22-23)
God is showing the world His greatness through the regathering of Israel. God promises to never allow the Jewish people to be uprooted again. God declared that as long as the sun is shining, His promises to Israel still stand. God isn’t doing this for anyone else other than for His own name’s sake. It is to bring glory to God in the eyes of the world.
Right now, the world is against Israel. The world is against God. One day, every knee shall bow to the God of Israel.
President Trump claimed this week that Israel only exists because of his actions against Iran and his support for Israel. Whilst we have much appreciation for President Trump’s actions in defence of Israel, we cannot beat around the bush on this topic. The only reason Israel exists today is because of God Almighty.
God is very clear that He will not share His glory with anyone else.
“I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.” (Isaiah 42:8)
Too many are misunderstanding God’s position on Israel. The enemies of Israel think they can wipe out the name of Israel that it be remembered no more. They have no idea Who they are up against. Politicians believe they can bring about a solution by defying God and dividing the land between God’s people and those who have no claim to the land. Even the Church is ignorant about Israel and believes that it is a manmade thing. They are failing to give God the glory that He deserves for preserving Israel in their scattering, for bringing about their return, and for defending them and ensuring that they will never be scattered again.
God deserves all the glory for the mighty work that He is doing through Israel. And today and always, we give glory to God for His faithfulness to His people, Israel!
Prayer Points:
Pray for the US-Israel relationship: Once again, the media has been making a big deal out of conversations between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu. We know both men need our prayers. We particularly pray that God will speak to the heart of President Trump for him to understand the importance of Israel and to gain a real Biblical revelation on why he must stand with Israel. Even though President Trump has done a lot to help Israel, there is no doubt that the reason Israel exists and will continue to exist is because of God Almighty. We pray that President Trump will acknowledge and worship the One who is watching over Israel.
Pray for the IDF: Israel is defending itself from Hezbollah in the North and from the continued threat against Iran. Also, the IDF have taken out key commanders of Hamas in Gaza. The enemies of Israel are many, and the IDF needs our prayers. We pray for wisdom for the commanders. We pray that justice will be done against those who seek Israel harm. We pray that the IDF will maintain the high level of morality they have proven in their conduct.
Pray for CUFI: Our latest Torch magazine has gone to print. The team has been hard at work writing and researching for their in-depth articles. Pray that it will impact those who read it, that it will reach further, and that Biblical truth will prevail against the false teaching of replacement theology and against the hatred of antisemitism. Pray also for our team as we attend events and plan for future ones. There are many more Christians who need to hear the truth about Israel.
Praise the God of Israel: As always, we give glory and honour to the name above all names, the Lord God Almighty! Thank you Lord for being faithful to your people. Thank you for keeping your promises. Thank you that you will never leave nor forsake us. Thank you that your followers need never to fear that You will not keep Your word because You have always kept it to Israel!
“Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.” (Psalm 24:8)
