We are seeing hatred towards the Jewish people rise dramatically. The Enemy is crafty, disguising antisemitic hatred against Jews as simply being hostility to the state of Israel. However, it doesn’t matter how you dress it up, anti-Zionism is antisemitism.

We have seen students chanting, “put the Zios in the ground” on university campuses. We’ve seen protesters on the streets calling to “globalise the intifada”. This rhetoric goes against one group primarily, the Jewish people.

Zionism is the Biblical belief that Jews were given the land of Israel by God Almighty and that they have a right to live in their homeland. There is nothing wrong with this belief, but Satan is manipulating people to believe blood libels against it.

Recently, we’ve even seen a US political primary candidate express her hatred for Israel, which mimicked the same antisemitic rhetoric of Nazi Germany.

Maureen Galindo, a Texas Democratic primary candidate, made headlines for calling for “a prison for American Zionists”.

She added that this prison would also serve as a “castration processing centre for podophiles, which will probably be most of the Zionists.” An insane conspiracy, and indeed, a blood libel against Jews.

She even went as far as saying that “anti-Zionist Jews are the real Jews”.

How have we gotten to the stage that a non-Jewish political candidate has the audacity to tell the 80-90% of Jews who are Zionists that they are not real Jews? Simply because they believe that the land that their ancestors have dwelt in is their own.

How do you think Christians would react if a Muslim or an atheist were to tell us Christians who the “real” Christians are based on unbiblical conspiracies? It is absurd.

This reveals numerous antisemitic branches of this ideology: They single out the Jews uniquely for discrimination and punishment. They deny the Jewish people their right to their historic homeland. And they deny the Jewish people their right to determine their own identity.

This is an extreme example, and with American free speech laws, this is something that we can expect to hear in America. In the UK, we rarely see politicians making such openly antisemitic comments. But that doesn’t mean British politicians don’t agree with what Galindo was saying.

In the most recent UK elections, we had numerous Muslim candidates campaigning with “Gaza on the ballot”. Local councillors, who have no say on UK foreign policy, were stirring up antisemitic sentiment within certain communities and doing it under the guise of “anti-Zionism”.

This week, the British Museum was forced to postpone a talk about ‘The Ancient History of Israel and Judah’. The museum capitulated to the antisemitic hate mob who planned to cause disruption at the event. Thankfully, it has been rescheduled.

The thing is, this talk was part of Jewish Culture Month. It wasn’t about modern day Israel, it was about the archaeology of the land. The problem with that is the history of the land makes it very clear that Jews are the indigenous people of Israel and that their history dates back thousands of years.

We hate to break it to people but, there has never been a Palestinian state. In fact, the Palestinian people are simply Arabs from neighbouring countries. Invaders from foreign lands who are trying to claim a land that doesn’t belong to them.

To be clear: The event wasn’t targeted by the hate mob because of anti-Zionism, it was targeted because of antisemitism. They don’t want Jews to even be able to learn about their history.

We see the same antisemitism disguised as anti-Zionism at the United Nations. This month, Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the “Occupied Palestinian Territories” lambasted Germany for its friendship of Israel. She urged Germany to move past its “historical guilt” over the Holocaust, and reframed it as a “syndrome of hystorical superiotity” that supposedly drives German support for Israel.

This is classic antisemitic inversion: blaming Jews for the very trauma inflicted on them and then blaming Jews for somehow controlling how Germany acts today. There is nothing wrong with Germany committing to turn away from the evil of Nazism. And Germany’s relationship to Israel is in no way subservient to Israel.

We expect nothing less from Albanese. She has a long record of questionable opinions about Israel as well as her denial of the crimes of Hamas, including her denial of the antisemitic nature of October 7th. Shamefully, Albanese continues on in her role at the UN (despite being under qualified) and she’s therefore given a platform to spew her hatred at many international forums. The only purpose she seems to have is to whitewash antisemitism as she demonises Israel.

All of the examples above show how anti-Zionism is used as a cover for antisemitism. Because there is no denying that Jews are being targeted more and more as a result of this rhetoric.

When Jews are stabbed in the streets of London, the attackers say they did it for “Gaza” or because of “Israel”. Why then did they attack a random Jew? It doesn’t make sense until you realise that anti-Zionism is antisemitism.

The alarm bells should be ringing for Britain. Maureen Galindo and Francesca Albanese are not the cause of this antisemitism, but they are a symptom of a much deeper spiritual and cultural rot.

The Bible forewarns that the world will turn against Israel. We’ve seen for thousands of years that Satan has stirred up the hearts of men to try to wipe out the Jewish people, and the same is true today. This is why we cannot remain silent. We must speak up and defend Israel. Not only are we defending the Biblical truth that God gave the land of Israel to the Jewish people, but we are also protecting Jews from discrimination and attack.

A lesson from the Holocaust is that what starts with the Jews never ends with the Jews. Satan will use this hatred against Israel and Jews to attack Christians also. We need to ensure in the West that the radical Islamists fail in their mission of “first the Saturday people, and then the Sunday people.”

For Zion’s sake.
