Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has offered his prayers for a speedy recovery for Pastor John Hagee after he was diagnosed with Coronavirus.

Pastor John Hagee, 80, is the founder of Christians United for Israel and founder of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio Texas.

The news broke on Sunday when Matt Hagee, lead pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, told the congregation his father had tested positive last week and that the disease had been caught early and he is recovering at home.

“He is receiving extremely good medical treatment, and I can tell you that he feels well enough to be upset with his doctors,” the younger Hagee said, prompting laughter from the audience. “He did let me know before I came to church today that he covets your prayers and he looks forward to seeing you again very soon back here at Cornerstone Church.”

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is a long time friend of Pastor Hagee, offered his prayers for a speedy recovery through social media.

“I pray for the speedy recovery of Pastor John Hagee. Israel has no better friend,” Netanyahu said.

Pastor Hagee responded on Twitter saying, “To my friend, @IsraeliPM thank you for your well wishes as I continue to recover. May God bless all those affected by this virus.”

We will continue to lift Pastor John Hagee up in prayer and believe for complete healing and restoration. And we are encouraged to see an outpouring of love and prayers for Pastor Hagee during this time.

Pastor Hagee has done more than anyone in bringing Christians together in support of Israel and has been present at key events in Israel’s history, including the signing of the Abraham Accords last month. Pastor Hagee was also honoured to give the benediction at the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem in 2018.
