Israel’s treatment of Saeb Erekat shows Israel does not repay evil with evil but with good

Top Palestinian Authority official Saeb Erekat is a prolific anti-Israel politician who has spread countless lies about Israel over the years, but despite his hatred of the Jewish state, he is now in an Israeli hospital in critical condition with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and is relying on Israeli doctors and nurses to keep him alive.

You can guarantee that the Israeli medical teams are treating Saeb Erekat with the same respect, professionalism, and urgency as they would any other patient. In fact, they may even be going further to save his life. He is currently in an induced coma and on a ventilator. The situation is dire, but there is hope he will make a recovery.

As mentioned above, Saeb Erekat has dedicated most of his life to fighting Israel and the PA have been sure to use the Coronavirus Pandemic to spread further lies and libels against Israel and the Jewish people.

One of the more outrageous lies against Israel came from Saeb Erekat himself when he wrote in the PA daily newspaper that Israelis are ”spitting on Palestinian cars and property ‎in order to transfer the Corona disease” to fulfil “the wild desire to get rid of the ‎Palestinian people in any way.”

These claims are outlandish at best, but at worse, they are anti-Semitic blood libels against Israel.

The reality is that Israel is going above and beyond to assist their Palestinian neighbours during this crisis, even bringing medical teams from Gaza into Israel to train them. Israel is also facilitating in supplying medical teams in the Palestinian territories with ventilators and other medical equipment while the PA has rejected equipment because of political reasons and therefore endangered their own people simply to score political points.

Sadly, the lies are being spread by Erekat and his colleagues in the Palestinian Authority are an effective way to brainwash and manipulate the Palestinian people into hating Israel.

It is no surprise that people within the Palestinian territories hold the most anti-Semitic views in the global polls when leaders like Erekat, who rub shoulders with worlds leaders and are given prestigious roles at the United Nations (and even Harvard University) are the ones telling them these lies.

It is quite ironic then that Erekat is now being treated in an Israeli hospital and the Israeli medical teams will be doing all they can to save Erekat’s life, despite his bogus claims that Israel is trying to get rid of him.

Israel has always been loving their neighbours. And they are fulfilling the Bible call in 1 Peter 3:9 which states, “Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.”

Furthermore, Christians follow the teachings of Jesus where he taught in Matthew 5:44, “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”

Israel is a light unto the nation and is loving its neighbour by helping people like Erekat.

We are praying for Saeb Erekat, not only that he will overcome Coronavirus, but that he will also be cured of his hatred of Israel and the Jewish people.
