In the past few weeks, Iran has been showing off what it claims to be its first ever hypersonic missile that can reach Israel in just “400 seconds” (7 minutes). This week, Israel has unveiled its counter weapon – ‘Sky Sonic’.

Developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, an Israeli government owned weapons manufacturer, the Sky Sonic will be able to counter the new weaponry that was shown off by Iran last week amid threats to use it against the Jewish state.

The Sky Sonic is in the advanced stages of development and will be showcased next week at the Paris Air Show.

“We follow the developments and threats in the global arena and, as in the past, advance and develop the most advanced defense systems,” said Dr. Yuval Steinitz, chairman of Rafael.

A video below demonstrates what it is designed to accomplish.

Hypersonic missiles can travel at least five times faster than the speed of sound, on complex trajectories, making it easier to evade aerial defense systems.

Iran, a country whose leaders repeatedly call for Israel’s destruction, on June 6 unveiled the “Fattah” missile, that has a reported range of 1,400 kilometers (870 miles) and a maximum speed of Mach 13-15.

The Iranian regime is the third country, behind Iran and China, to develop the hypersonic missile. The USA and other allies of Israel are currently still trying to develop such weapons.

It seems that the recent developments with Iran providing drones to Russia and cooperation between Iran, China and Russia, including military exercises, may have meant that intelligence sharing for Iran to develop the weapon may have been involved.

Despite the advanced weaponry of Israel’s enemies, the Jewish state is not fearful.

The day after Iran’s unveiling, Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Gallant appeared to address the regime in Tehran.

”I hear our enemies boasting about weapons they are developing. To any such development, we have an even better response—whether it be on land, in the air, or in the maritime arena, including both defensive and offensive means,” said Gallant.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also addressed the threat of Iran in a recent interview with Sky News.

“Iran is openly committed to destroying, repeating the Holocaust and destroying the six or seven million Jews of Israel and we’re not going to sit by, idly by and let them do it,” Netanyahu said.

“(If) these Ayatollahs think that they could threaten us with a nuclear holocaust they’re wrong. We will do whatever we need to do to defend ourselves,” the Prime Minister added.

Ultimately, the God of Israel will never allow Iran to succeed in their evil plans. We must continue to pray for Israel’s protection.

This year, we want to do more to bless Israel and the Jewish people.

We know that as we bless Israel this year, God will bless us, just as He promised in Genesis 12:3, “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Now is the time to bless Israel and the Jewish people.
