No more delay! Britain should ban Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards
There is no excuse why the British government has not yet banned Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Please join CUFI’s call to ban the IRGC once and for all, by sending an email to your MP asking them to pressure the Prime Minister, Home Office and Foreign Office.
Israel and the United Kingdom will both benefit by the UK taking this stand against Iranian terror.
Here are a few reasons why the IRGC should be banned:
- The IRGC represents a threat to UK citizens, the British Jewish Community, other UK nationals with connections to Israel and general British interests with the Middle East and Gulf states.
- The IRGC supports, arms, trains and funds other terrorist organisations including Hezbollah, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the terror group that was responsible for firing over 1000 rockets indiscriminately into Israeli civilian areas earlier in May.
- The IRGC’s Quds (Jerusalem) Force aims to act as an army with a mandate to export the Iranian revolution overseas and “liberate Palestine” through destroying Israel, which Iran describes as the “Zionist regime” and a “cancerous tumour” that must be “eradicated.”
- Proscribing the IRGC would not prevent diplomatic engagement with Iran, it would make it clear which areas of Iranian activity are unacceptable.
Please take a moment to send an email using our suggested wording to your MP (Cc’d to the Home Office). It only takes a few minutes and your participation continues the wave of pro-Israel advocacy that is pushing the UK towards taking a firmer stand with Israel.
