“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
This week has felt like a shift in the world against Israel. The United Nations’ blood libel, the most anti-Israel rhetoric to come out of the British government, and a globalisation of hatred that led to the evil murder of two Israeli embassy staff. It is times like these when we must stand firm in our faith, be bold in our stand and place our trust in God because He is the one who can fight these battles for us.
Pray for the Israeli embassies around the world: From the Iranian plot to bomb the London embassy a few weeks ago to this horrific shooting attack in Washington DC this week, it is clear that Israel’s embassies are a target. Let’s lift up Israel’s diplomatic missions, pray for protection over them, and for boldness as they represent Israel throughout the world.
Pray for the CUFI Washington Summit, which is taking place next month: Thousands of pro-Israel Christians, as well as the CUFI UK team, will be in Washington to show support for Israel in the heart of America’s capital. Last year, we had protests, disruptors, and threats. This year, there will likely be more attempts, but we must pray they are thwarted. Intercede for CUFI leaders and members that those attending will have boldness, unity of spirit, and that we will impact America for God’s glory and Israel’s good.
Pray for the UK-Israel relationship: It is clear that this relationship has been harmed. It seems the anti-Israel sentiment in the Labour government that has been bubbling under the surface has now burst out through statements from the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. Pray for wisdom for our leaders and that they will turn away from their hatred of Israel. May the Church in Britain rise up and may CUFI’s campaigning have an impact to change the political landscape, because the path the UK is heading down is not good for Britain.
Pray for the Church to defend the truth: This week, a lie has spread around the world that has done untold damage to Israel, the Jewish community, and to all who love Israel. Satan is the father of lies, and this lie came from the very top of the UN, permeated the highest levels of governments, the media, and all areas of influence. Pray that the body of Christ will have boldness in defending the truth and standing up for Israel.
We echo the words of Pastor John Hagee: “If there is a line to be drawn, draw it around both Christians and Jews, for we are one.” We take our stand now in unity, refusing to be divided by hatred or silenced by fear.
