Charlie Kirk wrote this on 14 October 2023, cited on various sources on social media, one week after Hamas committed a massacre against Jews in Israel:
“We have been asked repeatedly this week, Charlie, why do you care about Israel? Israel changed my life. Strengthened my faith, made the Bible pop into reality, and gave me the most precious memories with Erika. How do you know the Bible is true? What if I told you that there has never been a single archeological excavation discovery that contradicts the Bible — only confirms. Israel is the living breathing access point to the Word of God and Jesus Christ. Seeing where Jesus walked on water. Seeing where our Lord rose from the dead Walking where Jesus was betrayed. Seeing where Abraham is buried. Praying where Jesus prayed. If Israel were to fall to the Arab world, we would have limited, if not zero access to our most precious holy sites. Including, being able to prove the Bible’s veracity. Israel is a living proof of God’s love, coving proof of God’s love, covenant, and promise. A week ago savage demons in the name of Islam butchered 1,300 Jews. Unspeakable horror. Israel changed my life. It is there as a window into the Divine and the eternal promise God gives us.”
Today we thank the Lord for the life of Charlie Kirk. We thank the Lord for his testimony of defending faith, family and freedom; including his defence of Israel and the Jewish people. Charlie was a defender of Judeo-Christian values and has become a martyr because of His courage to stand for Biblical truth. These values included the nation of Israel, always referring to the Bible to support his conviction. He once said, “I have defended Israel my whole life.”
Charlie’s life was brutally taken, but he remained faithful to speak truth until the end. We must pray for his wife, Erika, and his two beautiful children, and for all his family. Charlie is in the presence of his Lord and Saviour, and His life and legacy will remain a beacon of truth that his opponents will never extinguish.
We also pray for the United States and for all of us who have been shocked by his murder. Someone said this week, “Charlie Kirk wasn’t killed because he spoke. He was killed because our children listened.” Let us pray that the next generation, whom Charlie so effectively impacted, will follow his courageous example of speaking truth and surrendering to the Kingdom’s cause, whatever the cost might be.
