Charlie Kirk was a man who lived unashamedly in defence of truth, faith, and freedom. As the founder of Turning Point, he inspired not only young Americans but also audiences across the world to reject lies from the woke Left and instead embrace the timeless values that built the West – values rooted in our Judeo-Christian traditions. Although his focus was mainly in America, his voice carried weight on both sides of the Atlantic.
Kirk was never shy about his convictions. He often declared that civilisation itself depended on faithfulness to God and to the biblical principles of justice, family, and liberty. He reminded audiences that, “Freedom is not man’s idea, it is God’s idea. And if we forget that, we will lose both.”
His message resonated in the United Kingdom, where he defended Israel and proclaimed his Christian faith at both Cambridge and Oxford. In forums often dominated by hostility toward biblical values, Charlie stood undaunted, challenging students and academics alike to look at the evidence we see before our eyes in relation to the Israel-Gaza conflict, and the timeless truth of Scripture. His defence of Israel as the ancestral and eternal homeland of the Jewish people was met with both fierce opposition but he never wavered.
“For Charlie,” one colleague observed, “support for Israel was not a political calculation but a spiritual commitment.” He himself once put it simply: “When you bless Israel, you are not just making a geopolitical choice. You are standing on the side of God’s covenant.”
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted a moving tribute to Charlie:
“Charlie Kirk was murdered for speaking truth and defending freedom. A lion-hearted friend of Israel, he fought the lies and stood tall for Judeo-Christian civilization. I spoke to him only two weeks ago and invited him to Israel. Sadly, that visit will not take place. We lost an incredible human being. His boundless pride in America and his valiant belief in free speech will leave a lasting impact.”
Charlie was also a faithful Christian, unafraid to speak about Jesus Christ in public life. He challenged the secular culture that sought to silence believers, insisting that the Gospel was not only a personal truth but also the foundation of a free and moral society. “The cross is not a symbol of oppression,” he often reminded listeners, “it is the ultimate sign of love, redemption, and hope.” We couldn’t agree more.
Pastor John Hagee, the founder of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), gave a tribute to Charlie:
“Charlie Kirk was a loving husband, a dedicated father, a passionate patriot, and a steadfast Christian. It doesn’t matter how you pray or how you vote, there is no place for violence in American politics. Charlie’s assassination will forever be a stain on our nation, whose soul is troubled. We stand with Erika and her family on Psalms 46:1, ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.’ May God bless the Kirk family in this their darkest hour, and may God have mercy on us all.”
Charlie’s global influence was unmistakable. From American campuses to British universities, from television studios to church pulpits, he called for courage in the face of cultural collapse and for loyalty to the God of Israel. He understood that the future of the West depended on standing firm in truth, on blessing Israel, and on proclaiming Christ without fear.
As we mourn his loss, we also carry forward his mission. Charlie Kirk was a friend of Israel and a defender of the faith. May his memory be a blessing, and may his example stir us to stand boldly for truth, for freedom, and for the God of Israel.
