Between 8th October 2023 to 22nd September 2024, Hezbollah fired over 9,000 rockets at Israel. After the worst massacre against the Jewish people since the Holocaust perpetrated by Hamas, the Lebanese-based terror group Hezbollah refused to be a silent observer. They used the moment as Israel mourned the loss of its own and fought to save its people from captivity, to unleash 12 months of barrage after barrage of rockets at Israel. Tens of thousands of Israeli citizens remain displaced for the past year, waiting to return to their homes. Yet, there is a narrative in the media that accuses Israel of escalating the conflict.
Israel’s strength against Hamas did not deter Hezbollah. Rather, Hezbollah saw an opportunity to continue what Hamas failed to do. In fact, Hezbollah leaders even threated how they would carry out their own 7th October.
With Iran’s full financial and moral, or “immoral”, backing of Hezbollah, Israel understands the gravity of the threat towards it. With Hezbollah’s full support of Hamas’s war against Israel, and with more than 200,000 rockets directed at Israel and an expected capacity to fire up to 3,000 rockets per day, the Jewish state is determined not to allow Hezbollah to conduct what it was created to achieve – to wipe out Israel and conquer Jerusalem.
From its inception, Hezbollah – which means “Party of Allah” – vowed the elimination of the State of Israel. It has also been responsible for terror attacks across the world and hates the West.
Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, once said, “The Jews are a cancer which is liable to spread at any moment,” and “if they all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide.”
Israel is not just fighting terrorism. It is fighting the evil of antisemitism.
For over a week, Hezbollah has been significantly set back. After stunning Hezbollah with the coordinated detonation of pagers and walkie-talkies and disrupting their ability to communicate. Israel has pummelled the terror group’s infrastructure and command centres, killing a number of key terror commanders.
The world needs to stand with Israel in their fight against terror. Hezbollah are the bad guys. The bad guys started it. Israel will finish it. God will ensure it.
