Tell the Foreign Secretary to reverse the suspension of arms to Israel.
The abhorrent partial ban of UK arms exports to Israel by the current Labour government has placed the UK at odds with a Jewish state fighting terrorists for its survival, and has placed Britain’s future in unchartered territory. Please send this urgent letter to your MP using our easy-to-use system (asking your MP to forward to the Foreign Secretary).

To [Your MP]
I am writing to express my strong objection to the UK suspending various arms exports to Israel.
This appalling decision calls into question the moral clarity of the Government. It was shamefully announced on the day that Israel was in collective mourning as it buried six hostages, murdered in cold blood by Hamas terrorists. This heart-breaking discovery by the IDF is yet another reminder of the long, painful tragedy experienced by Israel and the families of the hostages.
This partial arms embargo against Israel does nothing to help resolve this conflict. Rather, it sends a message to the world that Britain is wavering in its support for the Jewish state and its fight against the evil of Hamas.
This is not how the UK treats an ally. It undermines Britain’s commitment in supporting Israel’s right and obligation to defend itself and weakens Israel’s moral duty to protect the Jewish people from those who seek their destruction.
This misguided decision will only embolden Hamas and every other antisemitic terror regime, including Iran and its proxies Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. It also jeopardises Israel’s efforts to secure the release of all remaining hostages, including 5 British citizens currently held by Hamas.
The decision also feeds the unsubstantiated narrative that Israel is in breach of International Humanitarian Law, something that Israel’s opponents falsely claim. Being “accused” of war crimes by Israel’s enemies does not amount to breaching international law. On the contrary, Israel is doing everything it can to operate within international law, while its enemies have broken international law at every opportunity.
The reasoning given by the Government is deeply flawed. Whilst it is right to expect Israel to act appropriately, preventing arms sales because they “might” be used in breach of international law is non-sensical.
Over the past year since October 7, accusations of Israel breaching international law have gone largely unchallenged. Consequently, the UK has now succumbed to these false narratives and there is great danger that animosity towards Israel will be exacerbated by this careless decision.
Furthermore, this decision places Jews in Britain at greater risk. Antisemites were emboldened by Hamas’s terrorism after October 7, and we have seen record levels of antisemitic attacks in the UK. Anti-Israel protests on the streets of British cities have further inflamed hatred against British Jewish communities.
This reckless decision by the Government will only fuel the hatred of Israel in Britain and further endanger the Jewish community. The Government can no longer claim to stand with Israel when its actions undermine these claims. Since October 7, Israel has sustained continual unprovoked and indiscriminate attacks by Iran and its proxies – a threat also shared by Britain and the West.
Israel’s enemies are Britain’s enemies. The Government’s decision to weaken Israel’s military capabilities undermines the security of both Israel and the UK. Instead, the UK should be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel now more than ever.
Please kindly forward this letter without hesitation to the Foreign Secretary. I am asking him to reverse this suspension immediately and guarantee that the UK stands with Israel in word and in action both at home and internationally.
Yours sincerely,
