Israel's Ambassador meets UK Foreign Minister to discuss cooperation, defence and peace

Israel’s Ambassador to the UK Tzipi Hotovely met with the UK’s Foreign Minister Dominic Raab this week.

According to Ambassador Hotoveley’s tweet, the pair discussed a number of issues including economic and medical cooperation around COVID-19, security cooperation as well as the “growth of peace in the Middle East”, such as the recent peace deals between Israel and her neighbours.

Hotoveley tweeted on Wednesday, “Pleasure to meet Foreign Secretary @DominicRaab earlier today. We discussed opportunities for further economic and #COVID19 health cooperation, the security challenges our democracies face, and the growth of peace in the Middle East.”

While not always publicised, the United Kingdom shares one of the closest relationships in the world when it comes to intelligence sharing and military cooperation. The UK strongly relies on Israel for a number of terror related areas and Israel’s involvement in this has helped to strengthen the UK and keep British citizens safe. Furthermore, the UK benefits from medical cooperation with Israel on a scale that cannot be understated. One in seven NHS prescriptions is produced by Israel and the NHS is said to have saved billions of pounds thanks to Israeli innovation and technology that has helped streamline our health service.

Britain is blessed when we stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel and we will continually pray that our government prioritises this relationship and builds upon it.
