We knew Eden Alene would be representing Israel in the annual Eurovision Song Contest, but now the country has voted on the song they want her to sing.
The Israeli singer will perform a new song, “Feker Libi,” which means “my love” or “the love of my life” in Amharic, an Ethiopian language. The song also features verses in Hebrew, English and Arabic.
Eden is an Israeli Jew whose family made aliyah from Ethiopia before she was born.
Israel won the competition in 2018 and hosted the event in 2019, which was won by the Netherlands entrant. Due to coronavirus, there is a concern there may be disruption to the event. However, as things stand we will see Eden perform in Rotterdam in May.
