Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Psalm 100:4
This week, we would like to give thanks to the Lord for a week of significant impact made for the cause of standing with Israel.
Firstly, in the past ten days, CUFI has held events in Middlesbrough, Hull and Dudley. We were encouraged to connect with CUFI supporters in each region, and we received some wonderful testimonies from some of those who were convicted to stand with Israel after hearing the messages. We also held our first-ever CUFI event in Alicante, Spain, where CUFI’s Alastair Kirk met with the city’s pastors and church leaders. We praise the Lord that He is planting seeds in Spain, and we look forward to it bearing fruit for both Israel’s and Spain’s blessing.
Meanwhile, there has been a battle raging between truth and evil. CUFI UK’s social media has seen a significant increase in reach this week, but it has resulted in a backlash of hundreds of antisemitic messages. Our team have removed and reported hundreds of antisemitic messages, but we couldn’t help note that the volume is unprecedented and the comments have become more sinister and threatening towards Jews than ever before. Please pray that we will have success in reporting the antisemitism, and that the truth will overcome this evil Jew-hatred. It is also indicative of the hatred that the Jewish people face, and a humble reminder that these antisemites hate both Jews and Christians. If this online antisemitism is not challenged head-on, it only empowers antisemites on the street.
This leads us to pray for the Jewish community across the United Kingdom. A synagogue in London was targeted this week by anti-Israel protesters. They projected an anti-Israel message onto the synagogue as Jewish worshippers met for an Aliyah meeting. Let us be very clear, this was not a protest against Israel – it was an antisemitic message targeting Jews. The Met police has been criticised for not doing enough to control the protest when it breached the measures police had put in place.
As Christians, we have chosen to stand alongside the Jewish community. Pray that the Church will have greater moral clarity and stronger conviction to speak out for Israel, for the Jewish community, and for our nation….
….before it is too late.
