This week, footage was released of Palestine Action’s terrorism in action, where a sledgehammer wielding “activist” is seen attacking a female police officer, damaging her spine, and putting her out of work for three months.

The footage was released as part of a trial for six members of the outlawed group Palestine Action who are on trial for the break-in at Elbit Systems in Bristol on 6 August 2024.

Those on trial are Charlotte Head, 29, Samuel Corner, 23, Leona Kamio, 30, Fatema Rajwani, 21, Zoe Rogers, 22, and Jordan Devlin, 31. They deny all charges of aggravated burglary, criminal damage and violent disorder.

The six are accused of carrying out the attack wearing red boiler suits and using a prison van to break into the facility. According to court evidence, they were armed with sledgehammers and other weapons, deployed smoke bombs, flares, and fireworks, and assaulted both security guards and responding police officers.

During the raid, a police sergeant, Kate Evans, was struck on the back with a sledgehammer while she knelt trying to detain an intruder. The blow fractured her lumbar spine, leaving her unable to drive, shower, or even dress herself properly for weeks, and forcing her off duty for months.

Other officers present that night testified to being threatened and attacked. One described being struck multiple times in the calf by a sledgehammer.

This isn’t the only attack that was carried out by Palestine Action. In June 2025, Brize Norton RAF Base was infiltrated by two activists who reportedly broke into the grounds and sped across the tarmac on electric scooters, undetected by guards, proceeding to spray red paint into the turbines of two Voyager aircraft that were used by the RAF for air-to-air refuelling and strategic air transport missions. Crowbars were also reportedly used to cause damage. It is estimated that the incident cost the UK taxpayer over £7 million.

Three days later, Britain’s home secretary Yvette Cooper told parliament that she had decided to proscribe Palestine Action under section 3 of the Terrorism Act. “The disgraceful attack on Brize Norton… is the latest in a long history of unacceptable criminal damage committed by Palestine Action”, she declared.

“The UK’s defence enterprise is vital to the nation’s national security and this government will not tolerate those that put that security at risk”, Cooper added.

The very next month, the UK Parliament overwhelmingly voted (385 to 26) to add Palestine Action to the list of proscribed terrorist organisations under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Under the proscription: membership of Palestine Action, support for it (online or offline), organising meetings, or even displaying its name or insignia are criminal offences.

UK authorities justified the ban on grounds of “national security” and the need to stop what they described as “aggressive and intimidatory attacks” on businesses, military infrastructure, and public safety.

From our perspective, it makes total sense that Palestine Action should be outlawed. They are responsible for criminal damage and there is a clear threat to public safety.

Palestine Action is, after all, part of the anti-Israel hate movement that too often sides with Palestinian terror groups over innocent civilians. Since October 7th, we have witnessed an increasing number of Palestinian activists defending the actions of Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. So it is not a surprise that some in the anti-Israel lobby have adopted the same violent tactics and used them in this country.

It is, however, a shameful state of anti-Israel activism in the UK. There are some who are still defending Palestine Action and saying that they shouldn’t be labelled a terror group. There are also attempts to overturn their banning. We pray these attempts will fail.

We hope the majority of the public will see the reality of the situation and the very real threat Palestine Action poses. And we hope that justice will be done in this case, especially so that others will be deterred from attempting to mimic this terrorism.

We understand that outlawing a group does not remove the hatred. It is still there hidden from the surface, but hopefully less likely to influence others.

As Christian Watchmen, we need to remain prayerful over the British government as they look to keep our country safe, including over the Jewish community. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. We are not going around taking sledgehammers to things. But we must stand firm in defending Israel and proclaim Biblical truth as it is increasingly under attack from every angle.
