“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
It has been a week of tragedy as Israel learned of the terrible news that six hostages were executed by Hamas moments before they were about to be rescued by the IDF. To make matters worse, the UK government announced their atrocious decision to enact a partial arms embargo on Israel right as the bodies of these hostages were being buried. It was a real stab in the back to Israel in their time of mourning.
As British Christians who love Israel, we are ashamed that our government is taking such anti-Israel actions. But we are also motivated to act. We will not stand silently by, indeed, for Zion’s sake we will never be silent! We are lobbying the government, spreading the truth, and raising our voices in prayer.
Here are this week’s prayer points:
- Pray that God will have mercy on the UK.
- Pray for the UK government. Pray that Keir Starmer and David Lammy will have their eyes opened to the truth. Pray they will reverse this decision and instead stand firmly on Israel’s side.
- Pray for protection over the Jewish community. Pray that the government’s actions will not fuel hatred against Jews. Pray instead that right now the Jewish community will experience support from their fellow British citizens and that Christians will have an opportunity to stand alongside the Jewish community as they feel even more vulnerable.
- Pray for the Church in the UK. Pray that Christians throughout the UK will unite in support of Israel like never before. Pray that church leaders will boldly preach the truth of God’s Word without compromise, including the truth about Israel.
- Pray for CUFI. Pray that our latest campaign will be supported by tens-of-thousands of Christians and that it will have a positive impact in this nation. Pray that the men and women of God who support CUFI will have the courage to stand up and speak out for Israel, roaring for Israel like the Lion of the Judah.
