‘Thus says the LORD, “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the LORD.”’ – Jeremiah 17:5
This week we have seen numerous attacks against Israel on the political stage. The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued its arrest warrants against Israeli leaders, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) demanded that Israel stop its just war against Hamas terrorists, and the European nations of Ireland, Spain, and Norway have foolishly recognised a Palestinian state.
These are all examples of how politicians who are trusting in the wisdom of man are cursing themselves because they are turning away from God and the authority of His Word.
With this in mind, we must pray as watchmen for Israel.
- Pray for Ireland, Spain, and Norway. The Bible is clear that God Almighty will judge the nations on how they treat Jerusalem and divide up the land. Recognising ‘Palestine’ is doing just that. Pray that God will bring these nations to repentance and that they will turn away from this evil act.
- Pray for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as they continue their operations in Rafah and in northern Gaza. Pray for protection over the soldiers, wisdom for IDF leaders, and that they will have success in defeating Hamas and bringing home the hostages.
- Pray that the plans of the ICC and the ICJ will come to nothing. Pray that Israel’s allies will rally together politically and protect Israel from these biased, anti-Israel judgements that do nothing but protect the terrorists of Hamas.
- Pray also for the Iranian people who are under the iron grip of the Iranian regime. Pray they will one day have leaders who care for them and seek peace with Israel. Pray that the Church in Iran will be effective at spreading the Gospel throughout the country.
