Israel’s Prime Minster told Britain’s Sky News this week: “Iran is openly committed to destroying, repeating the Holocaust and destroying the six or seven million Jews of Israel and we’re not going to sit by, idly by and let them do it.
“(If) these Ayatollahs think that they could threaten us with a nuclear holocaust they’re wrong. We will do whatever we need to do to defend ourselves.”
The comments came in a week that Iran unveiled a hypersonic missile following a test last week. They claim that the missile can reach Mach 15, which is 15 times the speed of sound and could theoretically reach Israeli targets in just under seven minutes. With a range of 1,400 kilometers (870 miles), it would be short of reaching Tel Aviv, but Iranian leaders are hoping to extend the range to 2,000km. Iran already has ballistic missiles capable of hitting Tel Aviv, but hypersonic missiles are apparently able to bypass and destroy air defense systems. So far, Russia and China have displayed an array of hypersonic weapons, with Moscow being the only one thought to have tested them in combat.
Pray for Israel’s defense. Pray that no weapon formed against Israel will prosper. Pray for Israel’s military leaders and for the success of Israel’s intelligence gathering. Pray about the regional threat and Israel’s apparent counter-terror operations on Iran targets in Syria. Bear in mind, Iran positioning rockets in Syria or Lebanon would give be a significant development and improve the regime’s reach.
Pray that the United Kingdom will ban the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps). The CUFI campaign is gaining traction, but we’re hoping that even more pro-Israel supporters will write to their MP. (See www.cufi.org.uk/IRGC).
Its not as if we needed another reminder why the IRGC should be banned, but this week a report by the Jewish Chronicle made some alarming revelations. It provided information to back claims that Scientists at British universities helped the Iranian regime develop technology that can be used in its deadly drone programme and fighter jets. Iran’s drone and missile arsenal is controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Iran’s militia that CUFI is calling for the British government to proscribe.
The report says 11 British universities, including Cambridge and Imperial College London, are involved, with staff producing at least 16 studies with potential Iranian military applications. Other UK-based scientists have worked with Iran to research the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as mobile base stations to extend the range of communications systems, on special alloys for military aircraft and coatings to upgrade armour plating.
If proven, the universities could have committed a criminal offence.
Pray that support to Iran’s weapon development by any university departments will be exposed and will cease. Britain must play no part, directly or indirectly, in support of Iranian terror.
We pray in agreement with the sentiment of Israel’s prime minister: We will not sit idly by.
Thank you for praying with us today!
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”
