“Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; They shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish. You shall seek them and not find them—Those who contended with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing.” (Isaiah 41:11-12)

This week we are praying that every force that rises against Israel be put to shame, disgraced, and brought to nothing. We are seeing terror attacks in Israel and calls for more during Ramadan, which starts this weekend, but we are praying that God will defend His people.

The Jewish community is feeling increasingly isolated and abandoned as blatant Hamas propaganda is broadcasted on the BBC, a news organisation that should stand for integrity but has instead become tainted by anti-Israel narratives. It is an insidious betrayal of one of our nation’s once most beloved institutions that is now failing the nation.

Additionally, this week, London failed to honour the Bibas family, whose tragic fate at the hands of Hamas should have drawn national solidarity with the Jewish people. The Bibas family were killed simply because they were Jews living in their homeland. But, while landmarks around the world were illuminated in orange to commemorate their suffering, Britain remained silent. London refused to light up a land mark in their honour, but it has been lit up for Ramadan. Shame on the UK for failing to stand with the Jewish people in their time of grief.

We often think of Israel’s enemies as those in a military sense, but war is also waged through propaganda—by those who manipulate truth, poison minds, and turn hearts against Israel and the God of Israel. They say that the pen is mightier than the sword, and a lie can be more dangerous than a bullet. We are sure that God will not overlook the responsibility of those who inflame hatred against the Jews.

Christians in Britain must wake up to the reality of this battle. Our nation is in a spiritual war, and the choices we make today will determine where we stand as a nation — for righteousness or against it. Now is the time to rise up, to protect the Jewish community, to expose the lies of the enemy, and to defend the Word of God with boldness and conviction.

With all this in mind, here are the prayer points:

  • Praise the Lord that the BBC’s propaganda for Hamas is being exposed. As the Scripture above says, they are being disgraced by their actions which go against God’s people, Israel. We pray that the BBC will reform and change its ways back to its original mandate which was founded in God’s Word. We pray that the UK will hold its national broadcaster to account.
  • Pray against the plans of Hamas this Ramadan after the terror group called for Muslims in Jerusalem to attack Jews. We pray for protection over Jerusalem, for peace in every part of the city, and that the plans of the enemy will come to nothing.
  • We pray for the Jewish community in the UK. They are once again feeling let down by the institutions that should be protecting them. We pray that they will not despair but will turn to God for their protection. Man made systems will fail them, but God will never let them down.
  • Pray for a spiritual awakening in the UK. Our once Christian nation is becoming more ungodly by the day. The Church must boldly proclaim the truth of the Gospel to our nation. Churches need to get back to the Bible, and that includes declaring God’s plans for Israel. Christians in Britain must wake up and realise that our nation is in a spiritual battle and God is the only answer to all our country’s problems.
