On Friday, Jerusalem’s Old City was once again hit by the Iranian regime. The IDF posted a picture of smoke rising from Jerusalem’s skyline with the following caption: “The Old City in Jerusalem, right near the Temple Mount, was impacted by Iranian missile fragments. The Iranian regime once again proves they fire indiscriminately—whether at civilian areas or holy sites—all with the intention of destroying the State of Israel.”

It is just the latest strike on Jerusalem since the start of the current conflict. Earlier this week, debris from an intercepted Iranian missile damaged the roof of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

The Iranian regime doesn’t care for civilian life. It doesn’t care for the city that it wishes to ‘liberate’.

As we pray for the protection of Israel, let us pray as the Bible instructs for the peace of Jerusalem:

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

Psalms 122:6 – 9 (KJV)

As the conflict enters it’s third week, let us continue to pray for wisdom for US and Israeli leaders; for those in the US and Israeli armed forces; for the safety and security of the Israeli people; for the liberation of the Iranian people, and for Jewish people all around the world. Pray also for the UK and our allies; that our leaders will drop appeasing Iran’s allies and stand with Israel.

We can already see a weakening of the evil Iranian regime. Pray that it will be removed and justice will prevail. Pray it will be replaced by a government that loves freedom and wants to be an ally with Israel and the West. Pray for the Iranian people, that dreams of freedom will become a reality.

We are also seeing a failure of Oman’s appeasement of the Mullahs. Likewise, there is an increasing tension in Qatar’s alliance with the Ayatollahs, pray that this Islamist alliance will be brought down totally. Pray that other countries in the Gulf, including the UAE, Bahrain & Kuwait will remain resilient as they face Iran’s aggression.

This week we have seen Iran’s indiscriminate rockets kill Palestinians. Whereas Israel’s defensive actions protect both Israeli Jews and Arabs without distinction. Pray that the world will wake up to see the moral differences between Israel and the Iranian regime.

Pray that the British public and our leaders will have revelation about the evil and dangerous ideology held by the Iranian regime – and that support in the UK for Iran’s behaviour towards Israel and even their own citizens will be more widely condemned.

Through Israel’s military actions, we are seeing the gradual destruction of vile and terrorist proxies like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Tehran-aligned Shia militias in Iraq. Pray that this will be completed and that the wider axis of evil will be broken.

…And may peace be experienced in Israel and for all people throughout the Middle East.
