Israel has carried out extensive strikes again the Iranian regime. A terror funding, antisemitic, genocidal regime that seeks to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Despite this, legal experts are now claiming that Israel’s attacks on Iran are “illegal”.
It seems those who hate Israel are doing everything in their power to stop Israel from winning. Because when Israel was repeatedly attacked and threatened by Iran, these “experts” were silent.
Let’s rewind to 2024. Iran launched the largest coordinated drone and missile strike in modern history against Israel with over 300 projectiles in a single night. What triggered this unprecedented assault? Israel had targeted a building near Iran’s consulate in Iraq, killing a senior IRGC commander known for orchestrating terrorism across the region and against Israel.
In response to a single Israeli strike on a military target, Iran unleashed a massive barrage, and yet, while much of the international community, the UN, and many governments condemned Iran’s actions, they at least justified Iran’s attack. The argument was that Iran was simply “retaliating.” Because Israel was on the receiving end, the legality of Iran’s action was barely questioned. Iran notified the UN, and the matter was over.
Now fast forward to June 2025. Israel is at war with Iran. It is targeting military installations, nuclear facilities, and key regime commanders in an effort to stop a regime that openly calls for its annihilation. Suddenly, those same international voices are crying foul. Why? Because Iran doesn’t have a nuclear weapon… yet. The legal argument now being spun is that Israel had no right to strike unless Iran actually had a bomb and was about to use it.
What planet are these people on?
If Iran had already obtained a nuclear weapon, it would put millions of lives at risk. If Israel was to strike at that moment it could cause a massive nuclear explosion inside Iran. If Israel waited until that nuke was being launched, it would be even more dangerous for Israel, a literal existential threat to the Jewish state.
There are deep double standards at play here. Iran has attacked Israel repeatedly and its legality has never been called into question.
Iran has openly funded, armed, and trained Hamas, the group responsible for the October 7th massacre, the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. That invasion of Israeli territory was indisputably illegal under international law, yet the world didn’t rush to argue the finer points of Hamas’s legal argument for why they felt they had the right to invade Israel. Instead, it turned on Israel before it had even mounted a response, demanding “restraint.”
Iran also backs Hezbollah, its most powerful proxy in Lebanon. On October 8th, just one day after Hamas’s massacre of Israelis, Hezbollah joined the war and began launching thousands of rockets at Israeli towns and cities. This was not spontaneous, it was part of a coordinated, Iranian-led assault.
Hezbollah was planning a mass invasion of Israel, similar to Hamas, until Israel, through its ingenious exploding pager operation, targeted thousands of terror operatives in one go. It was an extremely precise attack on Hezbollah terrorists that rendered the terror group impotent.
Once again, Israel was condemned. Its pager attack was labelled “illegal” by the international community, despite their silence when Hezbollah illegally attacked Israel.
In September 2024, Israel killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in a precision strike in Lebanon. Iran responded not through proxies, but with a direct missile attack from Iranian territory onto Israeli soil. Ask yourself: If Iran wasn’t in control of Hezbollah, why did it retaliate over Nasrallah’s death?
And again, no global outcry that Iran’s retaliation was “illegal”. No UN emergency session to condemn Iran. No legal challenges. And yet, Iran launched a direct attack on Israel, from Iranian soil onto Israeli soil.
Since October 7th, the Houthis in Yemen, another Iranian-backed group, have repeatedly attacked Israel, launching missiles toward Eilat and threatening Israeli shipping in the Red Sea. The Houthi motto itself is unambiguous: “Allah is the Greatest, Death to America, Death to Israel, Curse be upon the Jews, Victory to Islam”.
They don’t mince their words. They want to destroy Israel and the West, just as their leaders in Iran want to.
When Israel struck back against Houthi launch sites, it was Israel, not the Houthis, that was condemned by much of the international community. Israel was again told to show restraint to avoid a wider conflict, despite the Houthis starting the conflict with Israel.
Now, in the present, we see the same pattern again. The world is trying to stop Israel at every turn, not from being attacked, but from fighting back. Not from being destroyed, but from winning the war.
It seems Israel is not allowed to win. In the eyes of many, Israel must absorb blow after blow and never respond. Israel must just sit and wait while her enemies build nuclear weapons and prepare to destroy her. For many, it seems, the world would be better off without Israel, but Israel refuses to give in to this.
As the late Golda Meir, Israel’s first female Prime Minister, once said: “If we have to have a choice between being dead and pitied, and being alive with a bad image, we’d rather be alive and have the bad image.”
This latest attempt by legal institutions to challenge Israel’s right to defend itself is not just flawed, it is morally bankrupt. Israel has the legal and moral right to stop a regime that seeks its destruction. Iran’s leaders have repeatedly stated their intent to “wipe Israel off the map.” That is not vague rhetoric. That is genocidal ambition. And they have backed it up with their actions every step of the way.
We understand that the hatred directed at Israel isn’t just political, it’s spiritual.
The antisemitic rage against the Jewish state is part of a deeper, Biblical conflict. If Christians can’t see the spiritual battle surrounding Israel today, they need to wake up. The Bible is clear that nations will rise against Israel, but God remains Israel’s defender.
“Blessed are you, Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword. Your enemies will cower before you, and you will tread on their heights.” (Deuteronomy 33:29)
Israel is fighting for its survival, and it is on the front line of a battle against evil forces that hate God and His people. It is time for Christians and the free world to stand up, not to condemn Israel, but to support its right to defend itself from those who threaten its existence.
