The UK government is turning against Israel, and now their diplomats at the United Nations are using dangerous rhetoric and demonising Israel for doing the right thing.
This week, the United Kingdom supported a UN Security Council resolution calling for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, a resolution rightly vetoed by the United States, but shamefully supported by the remaining 14 members of the Security Council, including Britain. But it wasn’t just the UK’s vote that was troubling. It was its rhetoric.
In a striking statement, UK Ambassador to the UN Barbara Woodward called Israel’s new aid system “inhumane” and said that Israel “needs to end its restrictions on aid now”.
Woodward also claimed Israel’s decisions to expand military operations and restrict aid were “unjustifiable, disproportionate and counterproductive.” She added, “The UK completely opposes them.”
Such language is not just inflammatory, it’s dangerously misleading.
UK: Israel’s aid system is “inhumane”
Gazans: Thank you Trump & Netanyahu
The bizarre view of UK, UN etc., where Hamas stealing food is better than Gazans getting food, is not shared by the Gazans being fed.https://t.co/zhN3l48QV8 pic.twitter.com/fMrKMgMttE

Israel’s new system helps Palestinian civilians, not Hamas terrorists.
What Woodward described as “inhumane” is, in fact, the first real attempt in years to ensure that humanitarian aid in Gaza actually reaches the people who need it the most, rather than enriching the terror group that brought war upon them.
Israel, with US and international coordination, has been working to bypass Hamas (and UNRWA, which is also deeply compromised) by enabling aid to reach civilians directly. Reports on the ground suggest that Gazans are now receiving food without having to pay bribes or protection money to Hamas middlemen or inflated prices at markets. Some Palestinians have even expressed surprise at receiving aid without strings attached (for free).
That isn’t “inhumane.” It’s the very opposite.
If anything is inhumane, it’s the alternative: demanding that aid once again flow through Hamas and UNRWA. Hamas has routinely stolen aid, sold it for profit, and held it away from their own people. Hamas has murdered Palestinians for trying to take that aid. Hamas has tortured Palestinians and has persecuted its own people over the aid. In fact, the leaders of Hamas in Qatar have called for Palestinians to starve instead of accepting free aid from Israel and the US, because it is affecting their income. And there are charts directly showing a correlation between aid entering Gaza and the profits of Hamas increasing.
Hamas does not care about the Palestinian people, they are exploiting them and their people. It seems the UK government also does not truly care for Palestinians.
To insist that Israel return to this failed, abusive system, all in the name of “humanitarianism”, is both perverse and immoral. It prioritises international virtue-signalling over the actual well-being of the people in Gaza.
Israel’s actions are morally justified
Israel’s military operations are targeted at dismantling a genocidal terror organisation that massacred 1,200 Israelis on October 7 and still holds 56 hostages. Any responsible government would act decisively to prevent such evil from threatening its people again.
The idea that Israel should unilaterally cease fire, without the return of hostages, without the defeat of Hamas, and with no guarantees of long-term security, is not a peace plan. It is a demand for Israel to surrender to terror.
Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon told the council members who voted in favour of the draft: “You chose appeasement and submission. You chose a road that does not lead to peace. Only to more terror.”
And as Israel continues to say all along, “A ceasefire will be possible only with the return of all the hostages.”
This war would never have happened if Hamas had not invaded Israel. This war would be over if Hamas released the hostages. It is as simple as that.
The UK’s shift is troubling
It’s worth noting that this marks a shift in the UK’s position. In previous months, the UK abstained on ceasefire votes and maintained a more balanced tone, recognising Israel’s right to self-defence and understanding its actions in Gaza. However, since the marked shift in the UK government’s attitude towards Israel a couple of weeks back, when blood libels were espoused in Parliament. It seems to have shifted the narrative. And as we said last week, the fish rots from the head down. The current rhetoric of the UK government resembles the activist language of anti-Israel activists more than the diplomacy of a Western ally.
This rhetorical shift emboldens Hamas, undermines democratic Israel, and betrays any genuine concern for peace or Palestinian welfare. It also puts the UK at odds with Israel.
The UK should be standing with Israel in its fight against terrorism and supporting efforts to build a better future for Palestinians, one not held hostage by Hamas or corrupted by UNRWA. Demonising Israel for disrupting the exploitative status quo is not just wrong; it’s morally backwards.
If the UK truly wants to help the people of Gaza, it should be applauding Israel’s efforts to deliver aid directly to civilians and dismantle the infrastructure of terror.
Unfortunately, the UK is heading more anti-Israel and is now openly talking about recognising a Palestinian state. This is why CUFI UK has launched a new petition urging the government to NOT recognise a Palestinian state.
The land of Israel belongs to God Almighty. Satan is using every force to attack Israel, including, sadly, our own government. We must not only pray for the UK government but also actively speak out for Israel. It is now or never.
