The European Union has this week announced that it has finally banned the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The UK must now also proscribe the IRGC without any further delay.

It is a travesty that despite all the atrocities committed by the Iranian regime, past and present, its terror arm is still not banned in the United Kingdom. Successive British governments have had the opportunity to ban the terror group but have delayed or made excuses. Without proscription, it is possible for the IRGC to operate in the UK and for entities and individuals to support the group’s aims, finance and recruit for the IRGC, and advance the malignant ambitions of the Iranian regime, including the desire to destroy Israel.
The IRGC represents a threat to UK citizens, the British Jewish community, and other UK nationals with connections to Israel. The IRGC is also a threat to British interests in the Middle East and our allies in the Gulf states.
The IRGC is already banned in numerous other countries, including in the United States, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Now it is also banned by the European Union. Britain should not delay any further. Please take a moment to send an email using our suggested wording to your MP (Cc’d to the Home Office).
