Here is the transcript of his message:
Thank you CUFI. Thank you Pastor Hagee. Thanks to all of you attending the 2016 Washington Summit.
CUFI is an amazing organisation. In ten years you’ve gathered more than 3 million members and are active on more than 300 college campuses. CUFI never shies away from standing with Israel, from standing with the truth.
You recognise, deeply, the justice of our cause. You know that Israel is a beacon of light in a sea of darkness. On the one hand, Israel’s enemies; ISIS, Hamas, Iran, Hezbollah, others. These are brutal dictatorships that murder civilians, persecute Christians and seek to impose their medieval barbarism on the civilised world.
And the other side, there is Israel. A democracy that protects individual rights, that protects minorities, that allows free and fair elections. A democracy that always strives for genuine peace.
Israel is the only country in the Middle East where freedom of worship is guaranteed for all. Where Christians are safe and they’re free. Now the difference couldn’t be more stark, yet there are those who hesitate to stand with Israel, who mistakingly think that Israel is at fault for the lack of peace in this region. That illusion is easy to shatter, but doing so requires just knowing the facts.
Why can’t we reach an accord with the Palestinians? Quite simply because their leadership is unwilling to accept the state of Israel in any borders and because they’re too busy teaching their children to hate.
Two days ago the Palestinian Authority dedicated a memorial statue to Abul Sukha. You ask, who is Abul Sulka? In 1975 he blew up a refrigerator filled with explosives on a busy Jerusalem street killing 15 civilians. I asked the Palestinian Authority to honour a peacemaker instead. They ignored me, ignored me completely, and went ahead to glorify this mass murderer.
The Palestinian leadership actually pays anyone who murders Jews a monthly salary. Now think about that. Think about what that says about their values. Think about the impact that has on peace. I asked him to use this money to fund co-existence education rather than provide a financial incentive to murder. They ignored my calls on this one too. And they continue to fund murdrers and their families.
A few weeks ago, the Palestinian President, Abbas, his adviser, his name is Sultan Abu al-Einein, called to slit the throat of every Israeli. And three days later, a Palestinian terrorist slit the throat of a beautiful 13-year-old Israeli girl while she slept. I asked President Abbas to fire this adviser because advocating genocide and murder isn’t consistent with peace. He ignored my calls on this one too, and he continues to rely on the council of this man.
I know all of you understand the difference between these moral universes. A moral universe and an immoral universe. Israel will continue to pursue peace and defend the values of justice and freedom. We will always uphold religious liberty. We will always be a place where Christians can thrive. Not only survive, but thrive.
I want to thank CUFI again for your invaluable work in spreading and defending the truth about Israel. We deeply appreciate your support, we deeply appreciate your friendship. Thank you all and God bless you all.
