Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz signed an agreement to form a unity government Monday evening, ending the political deadlock which prevented the formation of a coalition and led to three elections in less than a year.

According to reports, Likud and the right-wing parties will hold the position of the Knesset Speaker, chair the Finance, Economy and Coronavirus committees, as well as hold the Treasury, Transport and Public Security portfolios.

The deal will allow for Netanyahu to remain prime minister for a year and a half, after which he will be replaced by Gantz, as part of a rotation deal that will be bound in law.

Until then, Gantz will reportedly serve as defence minister, while Blue and White No. 2 Gabi Ashkenazi will serve as foreign minister.

We must continue to pray for Israel and her leaders, especially at this time. Israel needs the right leadership to guide them through this storm and in the years ahead.
