If anyone was in any doubt that the Iranian regime is a tyrannical threat to the world, they need to look no further than to the speech of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani last night.
The mainstream media has long praised Rouhani as being “moderate”. This has never been the case. Rouhani was instead chosen by Ayatollah Khamenei (the real leader of Iran) as a diplomatic figurehead to lull the Western world into thinking Iran had become more moderate. For the most part it has worked. President Rouhani has been careful to speak in diplomatic terms, but occasionally the mask slips.
Last night’s speech saw Rouhani talking of “maintaining peace in the region” and overcoming the current situation “with unity”. However, it is the words the media is ignoring that we should be paying attention to. In fact, it is shocking to see some media networks acting as mouthpieces for the Iranian regime whilst they disrespectfully slam President Trump.
Rouhani shows his hatred for Israel
In last night’s speech, Rouhani called Israel “the illegitimate Zionist regime”. This is Iran’s standard tagline for referring to Israel.
Rouhani said Israel was “the very regime that martyred our nuclear scientists. The very regime that is perpetrating atrocities and crimes against the people of the region and perpetrates crimes against the innocent people of Palestine.”
Iran wants to wipe Israel off the face of the earth using nuclear weapons. This is still their intention regardless of how long it is delayed through false agreements. Israel’s inclusion in this speech shows why Israel is concerned about Iran’s nuclear intentions.
Rouhani slams America and Trump
“We will not allow Trump to triumph in exerting economic pressure on the Iranian people,” Rouhani declared. “History has shown our people have always been victorious in the face of conspiracies.”
“Iran is a country that adheres to its commitments,” he said. “The U.S. is a country that has never adhered to its agreements.” He also said that “the Americans have always adopted a hostile approach.”
Later on in his speech, however, he tried to appeal to Americans by saying the United States was “a great nation” that was “suffering from rulers” who have “tarnished their prestige”, he said in reference to the Trump administration.
He concluded by saying, “I am pleased that a bothersome creature has been eliminated from the JCPOA (the Iran nuclear deal)”.
Rouhani vows to make nuclear weapons
Rouhani made a point of stressing that Iran, at any time, could resume its nuclear program.
“So if necessary, we can begin our industrial enrichment without limitations,” the Iranian leader said.
“Until implementation of this decision, we will wait for some weeks and will talk with our friends and allies and other signatories of the nuclear deal, who signed it and who will remain loyal to it. Everything depends on our national interests.”
If our needs are not met, “there will be a clear path ahead of us”, Rouhani said.
Rouhani didn’t state what that “clear path” was, however, this terminology has been used time and time against by critics of the JCPOA, including Prime Minister Netanyahu who said that far from stopping Iran’s nuclear development it gives them a “clear path” to the bomb.
Will the media report on this?
Will the Western Media report on Rouhani’s words against Trump and Israel? Probably not.
In fact, calling President Trump a derogative term such as a “bothersome creature” is commonplace on many Western news channels these days.
It is shocking to see the media having such little respect for the American President that they are more than willing to align themselves with the tyrannical dictatorship of Iran, a country that vows to wipe both Israel and America off the face of the earth, before ever admitting that President Trump made the right decision to cancel this disastrous deal.
