Israelis are an amazing and resilient people who are enduring much more than the world will recognise. The statistics for terror attacks on Israelis in 2024 provide some insight into this.

A remarkable piece of information to consider is that Israelis were attacked by terrorists on seven fronts. Five countries: Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iran, and Iraq. And from two territories: Gaza and the West Bank (Judea and Samaria).

In total there were 18,365 attacks into Israel last year, with the vast majority of the attacks being rocket attacks.

Some 16,400 rockets and missiles were fired into Israel, of which approximately 15,400 were launched by Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon and 700 from the Gaza Strip.

October saw the most launches, with more than 6,900 attacks reported, which coincided with Israel’s offensive against Hezbollah.

At the same time, terrorists sent at least 399 drones toward Israeli territory, the vast majority of which came from Lebanon.

They also sparked more than 600 wildfires, burning 92,417 acres managed by the Israel Nature and Parks Authority and more than 42,749 acres of farmland.

There were 1,900 direct terrorist incidents in 2024, these included shootings, stabbings, car rammings, Molotov cocktails, and stone-throwing, which made up the majority of these direct attacks. Judea and Samaria were where most of these attacks occurred.

In total, 134 innocent Israelis were killed in 2024’s attacks and 1,277 people were wounded. The data comes from the National Public Diplomacy Directorate in the Prime Minister’s Office.

Israel has indeed endured a lot, and they continue to fight to free their hostages and safeguard their homeland. Israel is fighting for its very survival. The world continues to try painting the picture that Israel is an aggressor, but really, Israelis are the victims in all of this.

Just as from the very beginning, in 1948, when Israel’s neighbours attacked the fledgling Jewish state in an attempt to wipe it out, the same forces of evil are trying to eradicate Israel and cleanse the land of Jews. That’s never going to happen, but it doesn’t mean that Israelis aren’t suffering.

Let’s continue to hold Israel in our prayers. They are a resilient people, a strong people who are achieving amazing things despite all the hostilities and have amazing defences. But they are human beings who are vulnerable to attack and need our prayers and support.

God bless the Jewish people. And we hope 2025 will be a year with far less terror than 2024.
