The good news is that CUFI UK’s social media efforts in the battle for truth has seen a dramatic surge in reach in the past two weeks. The troubling news is that it has resulted in several hundred antisemitic comments – some of them being the most grotesque Jew-hatred we have seen on our social media to date.

In the past week alone, our team has removed and reported hundreds of antisemitic comments to Facebook.

Receiving antisemitic comments is sadly not new for CUFI UK, however there has been a dramatic shift in the past two weeks. The comments have become less ‘bot-like’, which usually contain the generic ‘Free Palestine’ slogans, and have now become more specific and individualised. The comments have also become more sinister and threatening towards Jews.

Below is a sample of some of the comments that the CUFI UK team received in a single day alone. Please note we have recorded them for the purpose of evidence and ALL have been removed and reported to Facebook.

CUFI UK’s Executive Director, Des Starritt says, “Our team has noticed a dramatic upturn in antisemitism in the past week. This is indicative of the horrific antisemitism that the Jewish people are constantly subject to. We are committed to ensuring that all comments are removed, however if CUFI supporters come across a comment that we have missed, we would ask you to anonymously report the person’s comment (not the post) directly to Facebook.”

“This is a reminder to us as Christians of the severity of Jew-hatred that exists online. It should be a wake-up call that those who hate Zionists, hate both Jews and Christians. Now, more than ever, we must do everything we can to stamp out antisemitism online. If we allow it to go unchecked, it only emboldens antisemites to direct their hate towards Jews away from the keyboard. It must be challenged.”
