At CUFI UK, we are committed to defending the truth through social media. Here are our most popular posts this year. Some are a sad reminder of the suffering of the Jewish people this year, whereas some contain important messages that you might like to share. In total, millions of Facebook users were reached through CUFI UK’s social media in 2025.
Israel has every right to defend itself
This was our most popular image this year. Over one quarter of a million people viewed it (275k), and 19,000 people ‘Liked’. Yes, Israel certainly does have a right to defend itself, just like any other sovereign nation. Unlike any other nation in the world, Israel is surrounded by enemies that want to obliterate it, so Israel must defend itself to ensure the survival of the Jewish nation.
Floods in Israel
Over 190,000 people viewed this image that called upon Christians to pray for Israel as it recovered from an intense storm in December in which one person died. Over 6,000 people Liked the image, but this image posted on our Facebook page caught the attention of antisemites around the world. It is so sad how a post about a storm in Israel could invoke so much hatred towards Jews. CUFI dealt the best we could we the antisemitic messages and reported offenders.
Solidarity with Jews in Australia
Over 8,500 liked our image in response the antisemitic terror attack on Bondi on 14th December. Our message seen by over 190,000 was in solidarity with Jews in Australia in which 15 members of the community were brutally gunned down at a Hanukkah lighting ceremony at Bondi beach. We were encouraged to read heart-warming messages of support for the Jewish community, such as “May Australia stand visibly with the Jewish community by lighting eight candles and placing them on front verandahs, lighting them according to the tradition of the menorah. May this simple act be a declaration of solidarity, remembrance, and light.” And “We are so sad this happened to your people. We stand by you dear Jewish people”. And “Our condolences to all families and friends affected by the shocking tragedy on your Bondi beach, Britain stands with our Australian friends and offer our prayers and strength to deal with there tragic loss. And only hope that steps are taken for it to never happen again.” We echo this sentiment and believe many in the Jewish community will have seen this support from Christians.
The Australian police officer
Detective Senior Constable Cesar Barraza was named as the hero cop who shot one of the Bondi terrorists with a “shot of a lifetime” and helped bring the attack to an end. A quarter of a million people saw this post, 10,000 liked it, and we received hundreds of comments, including this top comment: “A single man armed with a pistol engaging 2 more heavily armed offenders. A hero and an example of the bravery shown by police officers doing their job to keep us safe. The next time you feel like insulting the cops remember this man.”
Heartbreaking
No image could reflect the heartbreak more than this one, as 10-year-old Matilda is laid to rest after being murdered in the Bondi terror attack. There are no words that can express our heartbreak at what this family has suffered. We stand with the Jewish community throughout the world.
Jews did not steal the land. They own it.
Well, it’s fair to say this message certainly did prompt a reaction. It was our second-most Liked image with just under 9,000 Likes and we received over 1,400 comments. Not included in this number, CUFI received a barrage of hate messages from antisemites – some of them the most vile we have ever seen. But we were so encouraged to received messages of agreement, such as “They also worked the land. It was desert and considered unlivable. They made it bloom and created jobs which actually encouraged arabs from surrounding countries to immigrate in the early 1900s” and “They don’t own it. They BELONG to it. It’s their roots, their blood, their tears, their bond, because God promised it to them.”
A call to pray
Seven thousand people Liked our post calling “Pray for Israel. Pray for the UK. Pray for the Jewish people. Pray for the Church.” Prayer is foundational in our stand with Israel. Please make sure you receive our weekly prayer bulletins featured within the CUFI Weekly Review.
Terror attack in Israel
A terror attack in Israel on 19 November at the Gush Etzion Junction. Aharon Cohen, 71, was murdered and three others were wounded. Sadly, these attacks do not get worldwide attention. We were grateful for the 2,300 people who Liked this post in member of Aharon and in solidarity with Israel.
Oxford Union Debate
Almost 6,000 people ‘Liked’ and another 1,000 left comments in response to our post about the Oxford Union. It stated: “The Oxford Union debate society voted that Israel is a greater threat to regional stability than Iran. It seems a university degree these days is a threat to mental stability… “ The top comment with 400 Likes was the following: “I propose that the Oxford Union Debating Society is more of threat to world peace than Israel. Any seconders out there?” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Unsafe for Jews
In November, we posted on Facebook: “Nearly half of Brits think the UK is unsafe for Jews. 45% say it is ‘very’ or ‘mostly’ unsafe. Pray for the UK!” Some of our commenters were quick to point out that this is a big concern for the whole nation: “If a place is unsafe for Jews, it is unsafe for everyone.”
