Police have launched an investigation after a Jewish woman’s home in Bushey, north London, was defiled with slices of bacon left at her front door.
The bacon was left beside a mezuzah, a piece of parchment fixed onto the door and inscribed with specified Hebrew blessing from the Torah. The woman’s garden was also vandalised.
The woman, who does not want to be identified, wrote on Facebook that the incident left her scared to leave the house and was part of an “ongoing series of hate crimes which have allegedly included [people] calling her mother a “Jewish ****”.
