Donald Trump has been inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States of America. It is important that at the start of this new political era we pray for President Trump, the United States and its relationship with Israel. We have penned a prayer that we invite you to pray with us:

Sovereign Lord, Creator of the Universe, we give You thanks that You rule over all the kingdoms and nations of the earth.

In your hand are power and might. You bring princes to nothing, make rulers of the world as emptiness. You change times and seasons, depose of kings and raise up others. You give wisdom to those that ask of it and discernment to those that fear You.

We praise You that in all circumstances, and not least in the midst of political change, You are unchanging. We are thank YOU that at times of uncertainty You are the giver of strength and bless us with peace.

At the dawn of this new political era, we pray for the United States of America. We pray that those on opposite sides of an often intense debate may now be reconciled and come together to work for the good of the nation. We pray for a healing of the divisions that the presidential election has exposed between the regions and generations of the country, for mutual understanding and toleration on all sides.

We pray for the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. We pray that you will bless him with the wisdom of King Solomon and the heart and courage of King David.

We pray for protection upon him and his family, for Vice-President Pence and for all those in his administration.

We pray that President Trump will uphold biblical truth and defend America’s Judeo-Christian roots. We pray that you will equip him in guiding the nation to make decisions that are pleasing in Your sight. May your plan and purpose for America be fulfilled through his presidency.

We thank you that President Trump has declared he is a friend of Israel. We pray that he will keep the promises to stand with Israel that he made during the election campaign. In accordance with your commands, may he bless Israel and not be silent for Zion’s sake. May he be a watchman for Jerusalem and an effective advocate for peace in the Middle East.

We pray he will speak out in Israel’s defense whether it be at the UN or elsewhere. May he have the courage to proceed with moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. We pray for good relations with the Israeli government and that the world, including Israel’s enemies, will see that Israel has a strong ally in the United States.

Today we renew our faith in you and pray that we will be faithful to pray for leaders and all those in authority in obedience to your Word. Thank you, that You are the Hope in our lives and the Hope of all the nations.

Praise be the Lord.

Amen
