“He is not here; for He is risen”
CUFI’s Alastair Kirk shares the following thoughts for Resurrection Sunday. Please watch below for the public reading of a selection of Scriptures, appropriate for today.
“He is not here; for He is risen” These are surely the greatest words the world has ever heard. A very happy Resurrection Day from me and all the team at CUFI UK. As Christians around the world declare today, “Jesus is not dead. He is alive. He is risen.” We’re going to ready some Scriptures that direct our thoughts to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which we traditionally remember today. This was not only a historically accurate event. Billy Graham once said “There is more evidence that Jesus rose from the dead than there is that Julius Caesar ever lived”. Not only is it true, but the world changed forever. For Christians who have believed in faith that Jesus rose from the dead, it is simply life-changing and a day of great rejoicing.
“Because He lives, we know He is Who He says He is, and keeps ALL His promises. Because He lives, we can find comfort in death, newness in life, and assurance of His promised return, our blessed hope. Because He lives, we can have certainty we are forgiven and we can find our purpose in life. Because He lives we have power to overcome, peace in our hearts and hope for tomorrow. As the hymnist penned, “Because He lives I can face tomorrow, Because He lives, all fear is gone, Because I know, I know He holds the future. And life is worth the living, JUST because He lives.”
From me Alastair Kirk and all the team at Christians United for Israel UK, have a joyful and peaceful Resurrection Day.”
