CUFI’s Alastair Kirk was at the wall of remembrance at Golders Green in London, which commemorates the victims of October 7th and the thousands of Iranians who have been murdered by the Iranian regime. Watch or read his message below.
Transcript:
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the IRGC, should be banned in the United Kingdom immediately.
That is what we, Christians United for Israel, have been calling for for years now, and we are renewing these calls. The IRGC should be banned, and it is unbelievable that the UK Government has not already done so.
That is why CUFI is calling upon supporters to contact their MPs, to write to them, and to join our campaign so that the IRGC can be banned without any further delay.
I am here in Golders Green, and behind me is a memorial to thousands of Iranian people who have been murdered by the Iranian regime. There are photos the full length of the street behind me, and more around the corner, reminding us of the brutality of the Iranian regime, their crimes, and the lives that have been lost.
It is also significant that among these victims are those murdered in the October 7 terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas. There are photos here of those who were killed at the Nova Music Festival.
Why is this important? Because we must recognise the terrorism that the Iranian regime is perpetrating. It is affecting the lives of millions of people in Iran, and it is also the source of terrorism, sponsoring attacks across the world.
This is no longer an issue confined to the Middle East. It is present here in the United Kingdom, and the Jewish community is under threat from the IRGC and the Iranian regime.
This stands in direct opposition to the values we uphold in Britain.
As Christians, we must speak out in support, standing alongside the Jewish community and standing against terror.
That is why we believe the IRGC should be banned, and there must be no further delay.
