CUFI Weekly Prayer – 11 April 2025

“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
For wisdom and might are His.
And He changes the times and the seasons;
He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise
And knowledge to those who have understanding.
He reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.”

(Daniel 2:20-22)

It has been an interesting week for Israel in its relations with two of its closest allies.

In the UK, our government have been once again criticizing Israel over actions it took to protect itself. It just so happens that those whom Israel was protecting itself from were British politicians. The UK-Israel relationship is not as strong as it should be, and this week we are praying for this to be mended.

On the US front, there was a positive meeting between President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu, with both men demonstrating the close relationship they have and it is always good to see Israel having a friend in the White House. Whilst we are grateful for this relationship, and the friendship there is from America towards Israel, we are also concerned that there is a blind spot in the shape of Turkey’s President Erdogan, which we hope the Trump Administration’s eyes will be opened to.

With this in mind, here are this week’s prayer points:

Prayer for the UK

Pray for the UK government to end its anti-Israel bias and to see the truth about Israel. Israel is God’s chosen nation, Israel is a blessing to the nations, and Israel is a good ally for the UK. The UK needs Israel more than Israel needs the UK, and we pray our nation will move towards blessing Israel just as God commanded.
Pray against the lies spread by politicians who hate Israel. May God silence those who raise false accusations in Westminster. Also, pray against those who are hollow in their friendship of Israel and quick to condemn Israel at every opportunity. “Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who deal faithfully are His delight.” (Proverbs 12:22
Pray that Christians in parliament, and through CUFI and its campaigning, will have a positive impact on our government and its relationship with Israel. Pray that the Church in Britain will guide our nation in getting back to the Bible.

Prayer for America

Pray for President Donald J Trump as he continues to stand with Israel as one of the few voices who support the Jewish State. We are grateful for his support for Israel and pray he will gain a Biblical understanding of why Israel is important to God.
Pray that any deception or false understanding of Turkey’s Erdogan will be broken and that President Trump will understand the dangers of this man and his regime. Pray that America will stand with Israel against all those who seek to harm Israel.
Pray that CUFI and the Church in America will stand strong in support of Israel and continue to positively impact American politics.

Prayer for Israel

Pray for Israel’s leaders as they navigate the complexities of the international political stage. Pray for the protection of Prime Minister Netanyahu and that God will give him wisdom in handling relationships with Israel’s allies and Israel’s enemies. We pray particularly for success in Israel’s relationships with the US and UK.
Pray for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as they continue to do battle in a multi-front war against the enemies of God. We pray that God will guide their hands as they defend the Jewish people and that they will be successful in their mission to bring the hostages home. “Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.” (Deuteronomy 20:3-4)
Pray that God will bless the Jewish people in Israel and around the world as they celebrate Passover. We pray that God will give them protection and peace during this time and that they will see God’s love for them through the Passover story.
