“For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.”
1 Corinthians 5:7

As Christians, our focus should always be on Jesus. Whether it is Christmas or Easter, Jesus is always the ‘reason for the season’.

This week, the focus of Palm Sunday, both from Rome and Jerusalem, was sadly not focused on Jesus, but instead was used to stir up hatred against Israel and drive a wedge between Christians and Jews.

Passover is the perfect time to learn more about Jesus’ Jewishness and the way in which God interweaves Judaism and Christianity together through Jesus. Jesus is the Passover lamb who was sacrificed for us. And better yet, He didn’t stay dead, He rose again and conquered death, Hell, and the grave!

Let’s focus on Jesus and remember the hope that soon He will return!

Pray for the CUFI UK team: We are challenging the lies of the enemy and also having to address issues within the Church. We don’t want to be challenging the Pope or the Jerusalem Patriarchs, but we are seeing Israel hatred coming from what we believe to be both wrong teaching and harmful views of Israel and the Jewish people. We are often times facing strong opposition from Christians who do not see the truth about Israel, and our team is constantly bombarded with hate, threats, and slander. Pray that our team will have wisdom as we tackle these challenges, to be able to effectively counter the false teaching of Replacement Theology, which is leading so many astray. Pray that our work will have a positive impact for the Kingdom, and for rest for our staff over this Passover/Easter break.

Pray for Jews this Passover: Currently, Jews in Israel are unable to pray at the Western Wall. Pray that Iran and Hezbollah will cease their attacks, that Jews will be able to celebrate freely, and that this Passover will be a time when the Jewish people collectively draw closer to God.

Pray for the Persecuted Church: While the world focuses on falsely blaming Israel for its treatment of Christians. Right now, there are Christians being killed in Nigeria, and tormented in Syria, and living in hardship under regimes such as North Korea and Iran, without any focus from the media, world leaders, or even the established Church. Pray for these Christians. Pray for their protection. But most importantly, pray that they will not lose faith. That they will have courage. And that they will win over their enemies for Christ.

Pray for the UK: Finally, we pray for our nation. We pray that Britain will get back to the Bible, that there will be a revival in our land, and that Jesus will once again be worshipped nationally. Whether it is a quiet revival or a loud one, we want to see our nation honour God and serve Jesus as it used to. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. We pray that Britain will find Him!
