“The land shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with Me.”
Leviticus 25:23

God is the creator of heaven and earth, and as Creator, He alone holds the rights to the land of Israel. Through His divine wisdom, God chose Abraham out of all people to establish a people of His own. Not only did God create Israel, but He also created the Jewish people. And He chose a specific land in which the Jewish people would dwell.

“Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.”
Genesis 26:3

God can never break His promises, and this covenant holds true to this day and forevermore.

“He remembers His covenant forever, the word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, the covenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac, and confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying, ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan as the allotment of your inheritance.’”
Psalm 105:8-11

There was a time when the nation of Israel was scattered around the world and without a home. However, through divine intervention, God brought the Jewish people back to their land in these times, and He promised never to uproot them again.

“I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them, says the Lord your God.”
Amos 9:14-15

Not only this, but God’s eyes are always upon that land. Israel is the apple of God’s eye, and He is always watching.

“A land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year.”
Deuteronomy 11:12

And God warns that there is severe judgement upon anyone who tries to divide the land of Israel.

“I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.”
Joel 3:2

With all this in mind, here are this week’s prayer points:

  • We declare that the land of Israel belongs to God Almighty and that He, by His sovereign will, gave the land as an eternal inheritance to the Jewish people.
  • We proclaim God’s glory over the people of Israel. May every soul who dwells in that land shake off their idolatry, repent, and turn to Him.
  • We ask God to remember His promises and continue to defend His people.
  • We ask that God have mercy on our own nation for not acknowledging His authority over Israel and the entire world. May Britain’s leadership repent and change course. And we pray for revival in this land.
  • We ask God to bless Israel’s allies, particularly the United States, as they seek to aid Israel against those who remain weak against Palestinian terror. We pray for wisdom for President Trump and that he will help bring about change in Gaza that removes the threat of Hamas in that war-torn strip.
