When we see the brightest minds at Oxford University siding with terrorism and expressing antisemitic hatred, we realise that intelligence alone without a Godly moral compass will lead you astray. Likewise, the UK government’s misguided decision to support a UN resolution that tried to pressure Israel into a ceasefire without the condition of hostages being released shows a complete lack of wisdom.
The world needs God for guidance. Man’s wisdom is foolishness to God. In fact, God Himself said He shall destroy the wisdom of the wise.
Here are this week’s prayer points:
- Pray for Oxford University following this shocking display of antisemitism and terror support at the university. Pray for the Jewish students who are no doubt feeling fearful, pray for their protection and peace. Pray for Christians at the university to stand up for the truth. Pray that the leadership and authorities will crack down on hate speech and restore the good name of the university that has a rich Christian legacy.
- Pray for the UK government. Pray they will have their eyes opened to the reality of the Israel-Hamas conflict. Pray that the Church in Britain intercedes for our nation. We have a rich Judeo-Christian heritage and our government and nation must repent and turn back to the God of Israel.
- Pray for the Jewish community in Melbourne, Australia following the horrendous arson attack which destroyed a synagogue. Pray for their protection and that they will feel peace even in the midst of this. Pray that the Australian government will do all it can to defend the Jewish people and find those responsible.
- Pray for Israel which continues to battle a multifaceted war, physically, spiritually, politically, and informationally. May God defend His people on every battlefront.
