“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”
Psalm 33:12

Pray for the United Kingdom. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD….” We must pray that our nation will turn back to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Sadly, the new Labour government has plotted three major anti-Israel moves in the past few weeks since coming to power: the resuming of funding against UNRWA (this week nine UNRWA staff members were sacked for involvement in 7th October massacre in Israel); the decision to consider an arms embargo against Israel (with reports that some aspects have already been started by civil servants); and thirdly, the announcement that the UK will not prevent the ICC from arresting Israeli politicians, should it decide to do so. These three matters alone are not what is meant by BLESSING Israel. At the same time, the previous and current governments have been lenient against the open CURSING of Israel on our streets by Hamas-supporting pro-Palestinian protesters. This week, those who counter-protested the far-right and anti-immigration protests largely comprised of pro-Palestinian Muslim groups and socialist/communist groups who united in chanting ‘Free Palestine’ and calling for intifada. This is indicative of the dire spiritual and moral dilemma facing this country – emboldened by the false portrayal that these were ‘peaceful’ and the collective unifying response by the British public. Nothing could be further from the truth. Not enough has been done to prosecute those calling for the death of Jews and destruction of Israel. Until this antisemitic threat is dealt with by the government and justice system with equal effect compared with other forms of violence and incitement, it is liable to only get worse. Meanwhile, the Church has a mandate to pray for the spiritual side of this battle. The antisemitic spirit that has taken hold of the UK must be confronted in vibrant prayer and the uniting of God’s people. Only until this nation repents and turns to the God of Israel, will our land be healed. This is the urgent call with condition; but it is also the hopeful expectation of God’s promise.

Pray for Israel: “…the people He has chosen as His inheritance.”
It is just over ten months since Hamas committed the worst massacre since the Holocaust. Continue to pray for the release of the hostages and Israel’s victory over Hamas. Pray for the protection and safety of Israel’s borders to the north, east, south and west. The lion has roared, and the world is discontent with Israel’s boldness against her enemies. Iran has been shaken by an assassination of Hamas’s top leader and their next move is uncertain. But we know that the God of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. Whilst Israel’s enemies curse Israel with every breath, we bless Israel with the Word of Life. As watchmen on the walls, we have put on the full armour of God in interceding for His chosen people. We will stand girded, shielded, armed and standing firm with all the spiritual weapons against Satan. Praise be to God for His faithfulness upon Israel and His Church.
