This week we are praying for the UK as it prepares to vote in the upcoming General Election.
“He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” – Daniel 2:21
- Pray that the British public will have wisdom as they go to the polls. Pray that voters will have open hearts and minds and seek out worthy candidates to vote for.
- Pray that Christians will have the courage to stand up for their convictions and promote and vote for candidates whose policies align with the Bible.
“Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.” – Proverbs 14:34
- We can see sin rising in our society and taking hold in many areas. Pray that the UK will elect a government that will uphold Biblical principles and that righteous men and women will lead our nation and push back against the darkness in our land.
“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” – Genesis 12:3
- Pray that the UK will elect a government that stands with Israel and the Jewish people like never before.
- Pray that the UK will defend the Jewish people from all forms of hatred. Whether it be blatant antisemitic hatred directed at Jews or calls for the annihilation of Israel, the UK government must do everything in its power to remove antisemitism from British streets.
- Pray that the UK-Israel relationship (including trade, intelligence sharing, and military cooperation) will be strengthened to the benefit and protection of both Israel and Britain.
“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” – 1 Timothy 2:1-2
