Pray for the families of the six hostages whose bodies were recovered by the IDF in Gaza this week. Our hearts pour out for the six men whose lives were devastatingly cut short in captivity by the Hamas terrorist group. Their fate is a reminder of the brutal actions of Hamas and need for the release of all remaining hostages. We continue to uphold them and their families in our prayers.
There has been much speculation this week of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Israel is understood to have agreed, but Hamas has not. There are rumours that Hamas’s new leader, Yahya Sinwar has demanded that Israel guarantees keeping him alive if Hamas signs a truce. This is despite him telling the Islamic world last week that he wishes to become a martyr. This contradiction sounds like a cowardly man who uses vitriol to inspire his Hamas minions as pawns to sacrifice themselves for this evil cause. This week the IDF reported that it had killed 50 terrorists in an operation in Gaza. Hamas is losing the war. Pray that Hamas’s ambitions will totally fail and that Israel will be victorious.
Pray for Israel’s continued safety and security. This week, Hezbollah fired 115 rockets and several drones into northern Israel. Thankfully, there were no casualties despite some homes being directly hit. The rocket attacks by Hezbollah are happening on a daily basis. So far, strikes from Hezbollah have resulted in 26 civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 19 IDF soldiers and reservists, and tens of thousands of Israelis in northern towns have been displaced. Continue to pray for them and for the peace of Jerusalem.
We declare this promise from the Psalm 128:
The Lord bless you out of Zion,
And may you see the good of Jerusalem
All the days of your life.
Yes, may you see your children’s children.
Peace be upon Israel!
