“Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray about the situation at Israel’s northern border. Hezbollah has been doing everything it can to pressure Israel in the north, in order to benefit Hamas. More than 60,000 Israelis have been forced to flee their homes in northern Israel and Hezbollah has continued to make aggressive threats against Israel this week. It sent spy drones to analyse targets over Israel’s major northern port city, Haifa. Likewise, they have been using increasingly sophisticated drones and large, heavy rockets to target Israel. This week the IDF said that Hezbollah’s “increasing aggression is bringing us to the brink of what could be a wider escalation, one that could have devastating consequences for Lebanon and the entire region.”
Pray that countries like the UK and US ensure that Israel has their full support. This week Hezbollah even threatened Cyprus, warning the Cypriot government not to allow Israel to use its military bases should a war erupt between Israel and Hezbollah. Any attack on Cyprus would inevitably require Britain to respond militarily in Cyprus’s defence.
Pray about Israel’s continued military operation in Gaza. Over the weekend, 16 Israeli soldiers were tragically killed fighting in Gaza. This was a tragic, heavy loss for Israel and we must give honour to all those who are fighting for Israel’s freedom and security. Pray for the brave men and women who are fighting as part of the IDF. We pray that they will have supernatural protection in battle against the evils of Hamas and Hezbollah.
We thank the Lord that Israel has made significant gains and that Hamas is becoming even less effective. Continue to pray for the rescue/release of all the Israeli hostages from captivity in Gaza. And let us pray that with God’s help, Israel will achieve victory.
