“I have pursued my enemies and overtaken them; neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed. I have wounded them, so that they could not rise; they have fallen under my feet. For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. You have also given me the necks of my enemies, so that I destroyed those who hated me.” – Psalm 18:37-40
We are praying for Israel as it continues to battle against its enemies.
The IDF has this week targeted key military leaders of Hezbollah and Hamas, striking in the heart of Iran. This was a warning to Israel’s enemies that the IDF can reach them no matter where they are (although, Israel has not yet confirmed it carried out the attack).
These bold moves will not go uncontested by Iran so we must be vigilant in prayer for Israel and those who are defending her.
With this in mind here are the prayer points.
- Pray for brave men and women of the Israel Defense Forces who are putting their lives on the line to defend Israel and the Jewish people. Pray that God will guide their hands in battle and enable them to overcome all their enemies.
- Pray that God will confuse the enemies of Israel and cause their plans to come to nothing. Pray that no weapon formed against Israel will prosper.
- Pray that this bold move by Israel will prompt her enemies to consider a ceasefire and the release of the hostages.
- Pray that Israel’s allies will stand shoulder to shoulder with Israel against Iran’s threats and that maximum pressure will be placed upon Hamas and Iran, not Israel, to end these hostilities.
We are also marking 300 days since the 7 October attacks and there are still over 100 Israelis being held inside Gaza.
- Pray for the hostages still held in captivity in Gaza. Pray for their protection as persecution against them may have increased following this recent assassination.
- Pray for the families of the hostages, that they will have the strength to continue speaking to the world and fighting the cause for their loved ones.
- Pray that all the hostages will be freed and that they will be united with their families. And that the bodies of the hostages that have been killed will be returned so the families can properly mourn the loss of their loved ones.
Also this week the CUFI UK team attended the CUFI Washington Summit where our theme was ‘As Bold as a Lion for Zion.’
We heard amazing speeches from CUFI Leaders, politicians, hostage families, Holocaust survivors, and more. Our UK team was honoured to be a part of this amazing event and it was timely as the US is currently in an election year and this next election seems vital for the US-Israel relationship.
- Pray for the team at CUFI, both in the USA and UK. We are working hard to share Biblical truth about Israel and the Jewish people on the front lines against those who hate Israel. Pray that we will be effective and impactful in our work.
- Praise God for the protection of our event and all those who attended. Despite protests aimed at disrupting, the event went smoothly and was a huge success. Pray that those protesting CUFI will have their eyes opened to the truth.
- Pray for America as it stands at a crossroads this election. Pray that God will show favour to the US and that the candidate that stands strongest for Israel will be elected.
