We, the undersigned, denounce in the strongest possible terms the UK government’s foolish recognition of a Palestinian state.

Shamefully, Prime Minister Keir Starmer has granted Hamas a victory and rewarded them for the atrocities of October 7th. Far from advancing peace, this wrongful act pushes peace further away and endangers the lives of the Israeli hostages still held in Gaza. The Palestinian leadership has repeatedly rejected peace, instead choosing the path of terrorism, and now the UK government has incentivised them to pursue terror further. The Palestinians have less reason to seek negotiations because of this misguided decision.

The UK has shown weakness to terror instead of strength for justice. Israel’s security has been jeopardised, the stability of the region has been weakened, and Jewish and Christian communities in the Middle East are further endangered because Islamic extremism has been emboldened. Furthermore, the Jewish community in Britain is less safe today because radical voices have been empowered.

The Jewish people have a God-given right to their ancestral homeland. Any attempt to divide their land or give jurisdiction of Judaism’s holiest sites to those who seek Israel’s destruction is both an insult to Jews worldwide and a betrayal of the Israeli people.

The UK has no right to define the borders of Israel or any other sovereign nation. This action violates the UN Charter and breaches international law. Britain is overstepping its authority and interfering where it has no mandate. This action is also deeply unpopular with the British public.

Worst of all, this heinous act places Britain in direct opposition to God. The Bible is clear that God will not tolerate the dividing of the Land of Israel. The Labour government is risking God’s judgement on Britain as a result.

Not only is this decision insulting to Jews, but it is also offensive to Christians and betrays Britain’s Judeo-Christian heritage. Just as Hebron is sacred to Jews, Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, is sacred to Christians. These places do not belong in the hands of radical Islamists, neither the murderous terrorists of Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority with its ‘Pay to Slay’ policy. Likewise, Jerusalem, the eternal capital of Israel, should not be divided, which the UK’s recognition of a Palestinian state seeks to impose on Israel.

We denounce this ungodly act in the strongest possible terms. We condemn the Labour government for its betrayal of truth and justice. We deplore this attack on Judaism, on Christian Zionism, and on the God-given rights of the Jewish people. We stand against every effort to undermine the security of Israel. And we reject the UK government’s attempt to undermine the authority of the Word of God.

We declare with one voice: this was not done in our name.
