This week, three European countries, Norway, Ireland, and Spain, announced they would be formally recognising a Palestinian state, dividing the land God has given to Israel and rewarding Palestinian terrorists for massacring Jews.

Just as a reminder, on 7 October, Hamas terrorists murdered, raped, burned, and beheaded over 1,200 men, women, and children. This was the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. And it is ongoing as over a hundred Israeli hostages are still being held by the bloodthirsty terrorists.

We cannot think of a worse time to recognise a Palestinian state than right now, but that has not stopped this abhorrent political move from taking place.

Israel’s leadership has not held back in attacking the absurd decision of these three countries. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made an observation that based on opinion polls, the vast majority of Palestinians support the terrorist actions of Hamas.

Netanyahu said on X: “The intention of several European countries to recognize a Palestinian state is a reward for terrorism. 80% of the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria support the terrible massacre of October 7. This evil cannot be given a state. This would be a terrorist state. It will try to repeat the massacre of October 7 again and again; we will not consent to this. Rewarding terrorism will not bring peace and neither will it stop us from defeating Hamas.”

Rodica Radian-Gordon, Ambassador of Israel to Spain, said in a statement on X: “I regret having to return to Israel due to some futile decisions adopted by the Spanish government, which will not contribute to peace and security in the Middle East, nor will they facilitate the release of our 128 kidnapped people still in the hands of Hamas. Many thanks to all the friends of Israel for their constant support. I hope that the ties of friendship between Israel and Spain are stronger than the voices that aspire to distance us.”

Avi Nir-Feldklein, Ambassador of Israel to Iceland and Norway, said in a statement on Thursday: “I am leaving Norway back home today, seven months after the Hamas brutal and vicious terror attack against Israeli civilians. I am leaving due to the Norwegian government’s recognition in a non-existent state, recognition that does not promote a better future in the Middle East but instead is rewarding terrorism, strengthening Hamas and Iran and being counter-productive to the efforts to release our hostages.”

Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz said, “History will remember that Spain, Norway, and Ireland chose to reward Hamas murderers and rapists, who raped girls and burned babies, with a gold medal.”

We could not agree more. The governments of Ireland, Norway, and Spain, are shameful.

Christian Zionists believe that it is wrong to divide up the land that God has given to Israel. Politicians, in their foolishness, believe they can force Israel to make peace with their neighbours despite their neighbours wanting to wipe them off the face of the earth.

You cannot force peace between Israel and its neighbours by external political means or by ignoring Biblical commands. The truth is that peace would already be a reality if man submitted to God’s Word and allowed the Jews to live peacefully in the land they rightfully own. Sadly, Satan has corrupted the hearts of men to hate the Jewish state and seek it for themselves.

This is why we are in a spiritual battle. As Christians, we must act as watchmen on the walls for Israel, never ceasing to pray for her. This is just the first of many political attempts to undermine Israel. We pray that they will come to nothing, and that God will change the hearts of these politicians to favour Israel and the Jewish people.
