• Never trust what Hamas tells you. If only the west had learned this sooner.
  • In mocking Israel, they in fact defied the God of Israel.

The shocking discovery that Hamas had returned the remains of an unidentifiable, anonymous person in place of the body of Shiri Bibas is yet more evidence that Hamas can never ever be believed. They duped the whole world this week just as it has been duping a weak west for 16 months into believing that Hamas is telling the truth. Terrorists must never be trusted. Their custom of lying adds even more tragedy to their abominable tormenting of a suffering husband and a grieving nation.

Hamas betrayed its commitment to return the body of Shiri Bibas, returning only her two innocent babies, Ariel and Kfir – paraded by the balaclava-wearing jihadists that murdered them and in front of thousands of cheering Palestinian young people who will no doubt be the next Hamas members, if they are not already. We now know that even on the stage in Hamas’s theatre of evil, these two infants, snatched from their home in Israel by barbarians, were even denied resting beside their beloved mother.

Israel had to discover the truth themselves by opening the casket and conducting tests. Hamas could have informed Israel if they could not fulfil their obligation. Although it is more likely this is all part of Hamas’s charade and yet another way to mock Israel.

This latest deception by Hamas should awaken those who are sleeping, thinking that Hamas is a trustworthy source. If Hamas lies about this, how can they be trusted about every other claim that they make.

Yet, in this same tragic week, the BBC used its prime time to air a documentary about the war in Gaza. “Gaza: How to Survive a War Zone” was narrated by a 13-year-old Gaza boy. But this boy was in fact the son of a Hamas minister. Subsequently, the BBC has pulled the documentary from iPlayer and issued an apology. When will the BBC learn? When will media platforms like the BBC wake up and stop being a conduit for Islamist propaganda.

The fact is, Hamas has been lying throughout this conflict. The huge grotesque banner behind the coffins on Thursday accused Israel (well, Zionists specifically) of killing the Bibas family by airstrikes. On Friday afternoon, this accusation was disproven by the postmortem results determining that Ariel and Kfir were heinously murdered by the terrorists ‘bare hands’. Terrorists lie.

Despite the facts now coming to light, Hamas supporters will still insist that they were killed by Israeli airstrikes. For the sake of countering this, here is some clarification about using hostages as human shields.

Under international law, where the death of hostages occurs in a situation where they are used as human shields, it is always the responsibility of the captors. In fact, international law actually goes further than this. It states that the moment a hostage is taken, the responsibility for any death of a hostage is that of the captors. Hamas is the only entity to be blamed for the Bibas family’s deaths.

Notice, however, that Hamas’s narrative is echoed on news channels and on social media threads. The jihadi-sympathisers that live among us willfully accept this narrative and blame Israel for because it hurts Israel’s image, delegitimises Israel’s legitimate military actions, turns the narrative political and smears Israel with the same ‘blame Jews’ tactic adopted by the Nazis.

Israel is not to blame. Anyone claiming that it is should be challenged with the following: “Why were was the Bibas family in Gaza in the first place?” and “when did it become an acceptable tactic of war to snatch babies from their homes and torment them in terror tunnels?”

Accusing Israel of killing the Bibas family is a modern-day blood libel. The Nazi propaganda of the 1930s and 40s has been reformatted and is being played out to the letter. We must resist it with the truth. We must speak out. We didn’t have the opportunity to stand with the Jewish people 85 years ago, but we have the opportunity to stand with them right now. Today is your opportunity to either speak out against this Jew-hatred, or turn the other way.

As Christians, this is a moral cause. We must be found to resist the craftiness of Hamas’s lies and be desirers of the truth.

The Bible says that there is blessing in blessing Israel. And there is cursing in cursing Israel. When the Philistine leader cursed David, the Bible says that he defied the God of the armies of Israel. In mocking David and the children of Israel, Goliath mocked the God of Israel and invoked curse upon the Philistines. This is the serious consequence of Hamas’s mockery of the people of Israel – they are mocking God and bringing curse upon themselves and those who support them.

Today, God is still not mocked. God is true to His Word.

“So the Philistine said to David, ‘Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?’ And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, ‘Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!’

Then David said to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.’”
