Joint research efforts to focus on pediatric hematology and oncology

Two Israeli and Moroccan child hospitals are set to sign a cooperation agreement, Israel Hayom reported on Monday.

According to the report, Rambam Healthcare Campus’s Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital in Haifa and the University Children’s Hospital in Rabat will share experience and conduct joint research work.

The latter will focus on pediatric hematology — an area of medicine focusing on blood diseases — and oncology.

The accord, which is also expected to allow Moroccan doctors with the hospital to do part of their training in Israel, is set to be signed in the coming weeks.

The report cited Dr. Shifra Ash, the director of Rambam’s Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Department, as saying the accord will mark “the beginning of a new era.”
