Two Orthodox Jewish boys, aged 14 and 17, were subjected to anti-Semitic abuse by a man who shouted phrases such as, “Allah Akbar” and “Kill the Jews” at them.
The incident took place in Stamford Hill in the early hours of Monday morning. The boys reported the incident to Shomrim, a voluntary Jewish neighbourhood watch, who monitored the man and reported him to police. The man remained in the area being “abusive and threating” to others in the area was arrested by police soon after.
Chaim Hochlauser, supervisor at Stamford Hill Shomrim, said “Anti-Semitism, and all types of hate crime, is unacceptable, I urge victims and witnesses to report such incidents immediately. Such incidents should never be accepted as the norm, no matter how regularly these incidents sadly happen.”
