Police in Hackney, London are investigating an assault that took place Wednesday morning on a bus traveling in Stamford Hill as a hate crime, Metropolitan Police Spokeswoman Judy Kerr told JP.
Police say the attack took place at around 10 a.m. on the 253 bus in Hackney. A Jewish man reported to police that he was the victim of an anti-Semitic incident, when the bus was traveling in the direction of Finsbury Park. He stated to police that a female passenger came up on the bus and made anti-Semitic comments toward him and poured a bottle of juice over his head.
Two Muslim women on the bus intervened to stop the attack, shomrim said.
Police are probing the attack as hate crime and will do a follow-up interview with the victim to get more information, Kerr said.
