A Palestinian cleric has called for the destruction of America and Russia and the birth of a “caliphate” during a prayer at Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa Mosque.
In his 14 September address at al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the Palestinian cleric Abdallah Ayed said, “Oh America, let me tell you about the day when the call to prayer will be heard from atop the White House, from atop the red palace in the Kremlin in Moscow,” adding that “we shall shout Allah Akbar from there.”
The prayer was filmed and put online and translated by MEMRI. In the video Ayed can be seen dressed in white traditional garb tells his followers that Allah will attack both America and Russia “Because Allah promised us both places, Allah promised the prophet Muhammad that Islam would rule the entire land.”
He added in his prayer, “Oh Allah in these blessed days and from your al-Aksa mosque, the center of blessings…we seek you to vanquish America and Russia. Oh Allah, blow up their capital cities and their planes, pulverize their ships and kill their soldiers.”
“Oh Allah we ask you to subjugate them and burn them…burn all they have with your fire.”
He ended his prayer by wishing a quick return of the Muslim caliphate, “Oh lord bring your caliphate soon.”
Ayed is a significant religious leader among the Palestinians and he is openly calling on the destruction of others and doing so from the Temple Mount.
Israel often receives criticism from mainly Muslim leaders for wanting to change the “status quo” on the Temple Mount. Yet, while Jews are being restricted from entering the site, this preacher is allowed to spout out his hate filled rhetoric without reproach.
